Hey guys I'm pretty new to the forum but I've got a quick question on beefing up my 10mm witness. I have the blue steel version 4.5" barrel think its around a 2016 or 17 model bought it used it had a recoil spring unworthy of a 40 cal super weak. Anyway I ordered a wolf #20lb recoil and installed it along with the firing pin spring how necessary do you witness guys think it is to use the Henning coned guide rod really, even after springing it right. I do plan on shooting full house loads. Have yall seen damage even after beefing up the spring and using the factory guide rod. Appreciate any replys.

I would say you can go a long time with just springing it correctly. If you add the $20 EGW flat bottom firing pin retaining block and $40 Henning cone guide-rod your frame will probably be okay forever. You will probably wear out the locking lugs on the slide before anything else goes. Just recently I sent for a Limited 9mm and ordered a Henning cone guide-rod and flat bottom for it the same day. It's just something I do to all of them.

Thanks for the replys fellas i think I'll do some grouping with and make sure I'm completely satisfied with it before i spend anymore so far though i do like it. It does also seem to be pretty accurate when benched I havent shot many of my loads thru it yet but i will. Thanks again for your replies

Just an FYI, I have a 30 pound spring setup in my gun and the 10mm has no trouble fully cycling the slide.
