Well, she's clearly throwing the kitchen sink at the wall to see what sticks.Americans, not all, have a short memory span.Yet,yet, she feels that the NDAA(National Defense Authorization Act)asurps the basic right of a AMERICAN CITIZEN DUE PROCESS.WTF is going on here. It's either one or the other. It's sick.

Government has Gone Wild!  They are moving to enslave  "We the People"!
They are working every end around to bring about a communist/socialist regime so people will not be able to stop their mission.  They have screwed the stocks and bonds and 401K's to drain the wealth of people, they have let the fuel prices run crazy to increase food and other goods, this provides more taxes based on the higher prices.  They want to further increase taxes to tax people in to summision.  This current goverment has one thing that stands in their way...GUNS owned by "WE The People", when they control that they control us and GAME OVER!  :o
Sorry to be so blunt but the writing is on the wall, and being penned to paper to be rammed thru the system one way or another!

The Government wants total control and that is why they jump up after every incident to impose gun control, it is not about guns it has always been about control! They want everyone to be slaves to their tyranny! Just look back into history Communism, Socialism, Marxism!

People had better FOCUS hard on this issue and maintain their rights as set forth in the Constitution...Give this current administration an inch and they will try to take it all!

Depends on how you read it.....the 100 includes semi-handguns that have detachable magazines holding over 10 rounds.

Wonder where they found the statistics for the 'value' of the expired Assault Weapons' ban? We're only going to ban 100 while exempting 900 'hunting' weapons. Nice word play.......doesn't sound so onerous. And they've only been working on this for the last 'YEAR'. This from a 30+ year politician that once felt the need of a CCW.......once you're 'up' you can pay others to tote the hardware.

So the magic number is 10?Sounds to me they will con't to chip away. It's a numbers game. Also slated is specific firearms, also titled or known as "Destructive Devices'.

EdMc

Seems to be a lot about numbers and no specifics.  Until actually introduced to the House or Senate who knows. I'd think they've learned a few things from the last ban and will try to close off any perceived loopholes.

Since the White House has called for a committee to study the 'problem' they either want to distance themselves from the issue or have other things of more importance to them to concentrate on. After the first of the year we'll find out.

I still don't see a bill making it out of the house.  Senate, could be, but I don't see it in the house.  But, if we lose a majority of gun rights defenders in the house then we may be in trouble.

And... This is pretty much the same bill Fienstien has been pushing since the last one expired.

Also, please note I didn't say democrats.  Until the gerrymandered the boundries in my state I had a democrat representative, and he was very staunch in his support of gun rights.  His response to Obama's press conference and call for renewed gun bans?

"I think we ought to have a conversation where we have actual data that show what can be effective in trying to prevent violence in schools."

He went on dismiss the idea of a new weapons ban, citing that it did nothing to curb violent crime before, and it won't again.

I didn't always agree with Jim Matheson, but he has some really good ideas from time to time, especially for a Dem.

I have seen this before.

Never ceases to amaze me the people that get sucked into low gun crime rates in countries that have banned guns.  Never mind you are five times as likely to be the victim of violent crime in the UK, at least you won't be shot.  I would much rather be beaten to death with a pipe.  NOT!

Also, ever notice how homicide rates don't change much.  People that wanna kill someone usually find a way.
