I already made me some rather stiff 10mm loads for my SRH. I am going to make a box of pretty stiff .40 cal loads to see if the POI shifts a bit or a lot from the 10mm loads.

Still haven't taken it to the range yet. Too many things happening all at once. My mom lost a hearing aid, First I tore her car apart looking for it, now I tore her house apart looking for it. Not to be found. Today I have to take her to the hearing aid place to see about replacing it. Gonna cost her about three grand. Good thing I got mine free through the VA. Anyways still have to make a range trip. Probably tomorrow, the day after.

They aren't cheap, but looks like an awesome gun

Yeah, I was divided between this one and the Ruger Super Redhawk, I went with the SR because it was designed for .44 mag pressures and I won't be afraid to load up my 10mm Reloads. The GP was designed for .357 mag pressures, and should be OK, but I like to error on the side of caution.

357 = 35,000 PSI
44 = 36,000 PSI
10mm = 37,500 PSI.

Not a bunch of difference here.

The difference is really in the amount of steel.  The GP100 has a 1.55" diameter cylinder, while the Redhawk/Super Redhawk is 1.8".  An extra .250" makes a big difference.

Interesting to see that because I've recently been thinking about getting the 6.5" SRH 10mm (although Lipseys is offering a 7.5" version) and getting it reamed out to 10mm Mag.

Very first 6 shots from my new Ruger 10mm Super Redhawk. The flyer was my fault. Think I got me a keeper.

Good shooting!

I initially thought the SRH platform was a bit much for 10mm and had thought a GP100 would be better, but I'm now leaning towards getting a SRH 10mm and getting it reamed to 10mm Mag.   The SRH is very strong and with some resized .41 Mag bullets, the 10mm Mag could prove to be quite an interesting project.

Well, that and the barrel of the SR is a bit longer to get you a little more velocity.
