Lucas McCain would have wet dreams about this machine. 10mm Auto, 12 rounds, and the most fun you can have with your pants still on!

I'm betting Underwoods 10mm 220gr Hardcast might push 1500-1600fps from the 16.5" barrel and I bet that'd be a dandy Elk gun. Am I expecting too much from my beloved Ten?

But it's a hard sell for me at $1800+donor rifle.

This.

But, really really cool.

All I can say after shouldering one a few years back is indecision regarding donor selection is the only reason I don't have one now.  The owner wasn't willing to part with it and I was a bit disappointed when someone after me managed to take it home.  I still think about it.

The shop is outstanding - they are skilled machinists and talented gunsmiths.  They are cutting a new crown, threading the barrel and fitting their handguard to a papoose for me now - they've previously helped my 336 and my 795.  Yeah, I'm doing 22lr again, but I'm strictly outfitting keepers.

When I have that sorta funding - Ranger Point Precision is a short listed shop to make me a special rifle.  The point of my post is that the rifle feels a lot less expensive after you shoulder one.  If it ain't a bonafide bargain, it's a fair price.

I like the idea of the lever gun especially the Marlin format.  However I'm not gonna take any of my beautiful Marlin guns to use as the donor frame.
If only they built them from the ground up! ::)

I've got a donor rifle to use ( bought it years back for $300 used)---- BUT I'm not gonna dump an extra $1800 into a conversion--nice idea though

I have a .44 Mag Marlin that gives up nothing to a 10mm.  I'd love a workable semiauto 10mm carbine that took something like Glock magazines.
But, putting a semiauto cartridge in a levergun is like putting a Chevy engine in your Ford Mustang!  Vodka in Margaritas.  Somethings just ain't right.

All that and you have a rifle consideraby less powerful than a .30/30 for which you paid an awful lot more. Can't say it makes any sense to me but that's just me.

I like the 10mm as well as anyone, but this is really a labor of love and maybe little else. My G20 w/ 6" LW and Rennier 180 HPs will make short work of a 6" citron(melon built like a feral hog). But in the levergun world I have a Rossi 20" carbine in 45C. Heavy but reasonable loads with 300gr XTP yields 1700FPS. I never chronoed a 250gr but they are unkind to whitetails.  And the 300gr is lights out to 400# feral pig. If you want a fun levergun with inexpensive feeding get a 357 /38 carbine. The reality is that it will out power the 10mm as well and feeding will be less painfull. And new and shinny wont evaporate the kids college fund. Just my 0.02$.
