Had a great time at the range Thursday with exception of butplate on mag failing.
Shot some 200 fmj bullets from Precision Delta fueled by 10 grs of Blue Dot. The 1006 handles recoil very well and the hogue ( I think ) grips  ( not much bigger but softer than stock )helped also. Very accurate load. Wanted to use  up some 200 gr blue ( coated ) bullets fueled by 8 grs of 800 X. Also accurate but not as accurate as the BD. Finished session with 180 fmj w/ 8.5 grs of BD  ( do not know how many times brass had been used ) and while accurate, did not seem to be as accurate as 10 grs / 200grn.
Of all my 10s, it is my favorite one. Scared to shoot too much w/ full loads or as often as I would like as you can not get replacement parts.
Wish S&W would bring back the 3rd gen pistols.

The thing about Blue Dot it needs to be loaded near capacity, for the best and cleanest burns which is where the accuracy really shines.  The 175's & 180"s that is around 10.2-10.4 grains.  The 200's 10.0-10.2 grains work well...but 10.5 grains meticulously hand weighed is what I fuel the 200 grain XTP's with a CCI 350 for just over 1200 fps from my 1006 using the 22 lbs recoil.

Thanks shadow- I didn't know upper end loading of Blue Dot gave the most accuracy. Sounds like it is like H-110.

My 1006 range test did not go as well as I expected today, report is posted below this thread.

@Shadow - my 1006 is to the best of my knowledge in stock condition, even still has the mag disconnect. No problems of any kind with over 80 rounds of mixed loads but I guess my expectations for softer recoil were not met but at the same time I realize recoil is very subjective. My SR1911 felt softer, but it isn't stock either.

I'm upgrading the existing recoil spring with a new Wolf 18lb. spring. Anything else I should consider to improve felt recoil?
