Colt Match 10 with Fusion 40S&W barrel

Hi everyone. New to this forum. I've had a Colt Match 10 for more than 20 years. If I had to get rid of all my guns, it would be the last. Well, probably the last. I also have a magnaported Ruger Redhawk in .41 magnum which is the 1st cartridge I owned. So many years ago. Anyway, I was just wondering if you 10mm nuts (me included) had added a 40S&W barrel? I sent my Colt to Bob at Fusion and am really happy with the results. Excellent accuracy and I can plink without breaking the bank. Yes, I reload but damn, I spend more time chasing brass than shooting. :-)

Chasing the brass is the main reason why I do not shoot the 10's more than I do. I did fashion a large brass catcher that helps me recover most of mine. Most commonly available commercial 10mm loads are actually 40 S&W loads so for the price of the caliber conversion barrel I will just buy more brass.

I bought a huge 20'X30' tarp at Harbor Freight for $30.  One of the blue ones.  I fire my first 3-5 rounds and go find the brass pile.  Then I lay out my tarp so that the pile would have been in the center of the tarp.  99% of my brass will then be on the tarp.

This works when I just go out in the desert to shoot.  Can't do it at a managed range.

Both of the ranges where I shoot have covered firing lines and the 10's start by bouncing cases around in the rafters. Where they go from there is anyones guess. The only one I shoot any more is the Hunter. Even with the 20# recoil spring it does the same thing.

At my indoor ranges I back up from the firing line about a foot. Brass usually bounces off the angled wide panels and then behind me. Occasionally some will go forward of the firing line. If I'm the only one there the RO lets me use a rake to pull them back. I probably lose 10% of my brass. Not tried outdoors yet.

Avoid low gravity environments.  Earth normal gravity barely keeps brass out of orbit.

They make a 28# recoil spring....it helps a little bit. Maybe if you run 180's and 11-12 grs of #7... you being have to chase them.
