A local shop here has both the sig is about 40 bucks cheaper which was surprising to me. I almost purchased it because I believe they have it marked wrong.

SIG: ambi safety
Ruger:  single side safety
Sig :Novak  style night sights
Ruger: adjustable  rear sight.

Personal preference  I guess. I'm a lefty and I don't like adjustable  sights  on a 1911, so for me it's the SIg all the way.
I have had my tacops 10mm for awhile,  but would still choose  it over the Ruger today.

I am the opposite.  I find ambi safeties make it more likely the thumb safety gets "off", especially if am actually workin.  And I don't care for the internal extractor but have no good reason why.

I do favor a different fixed rear sight.

I thought I added this...But I guess I forgot to click save.

Between these two, ultimately I would buy the cheaper one.

Hmmm....it's only $40 cheaper.

Though we had problems with our Sigs at work so maybe I am biased the other way.

Are you referring to the current P229 controversy?  From your perspective, is there anything you can share?  I'd read the issue occurs with training ammo; is it also occurring with duty ammo?

I should say here...don't believe everything you read. I really cannot speak in public about this because it is still in litigation.

Wish I could say more.

I would pick the SIG, simply because it is more user-friendly to a southpaw.
