What are my best options for lightening trigger pull etc. Looked at the ghost connector mixed reviews or maybe spend the money on a new trigger assembly. Kkm barrel and Burris fastfire  groups really improved this is my first glock .wish the trigger was a lot lighter pull I know it will never be as good as my Smith&wessons . Gun will be used for hunting deer and pigs

Google "25 cent trigger job".

I agree with the 25 cent trigger job.  Makes a big difference.

I did buy a ghost connector.  It did reduce the trigger pull a great deal, but I didn't like it.  It made the break a lot less crisp to my feel, so I switched back to the regular connector.

Shoot it.  My Glock 29 probably four times the round count that my Glock 20 does, and the trigger is lighter while still crisp.  My Glock 20 is catching up, I just bought the 29 several years earlier.

Finally, if you are will to spend the money, Zev makes some amazing fire control systems:

Never bought one, but I have dry fired guns with these triggers in them, and it is truly remarkable.

All of my Glocks (6 so far) have ZEV ultimate triggers in them, even my carry. I've tried DK, Lightning strike, Vanek, .25 trigger job, Ghost connectors, over travel stops, etc.. and ZEV is hands down the best trigger out there.

My G40 came out of the box with a good trigger (for a Glock).  The 25 cent trigger job is money very well spent  ;D
The other thing is to put about 1,000 rounds through it.  Great gun.  Congrats.

BTW... I would not put lighter springs of any sort in it.

Oddly enough due to the way the Glock works, a lighter trigger pull is achieved with a heavier trigger spring.  This is because the striker spring is way to strong to have any kind of a reasonable trigger pull without help.  So, the "trigger" spring actually is helping you pull the trigger.

Changing it has legal liabilities, but will not make the gun any less reliable.  Just fine for a range toy or for hunting.  Might land you in hot water in a self defense gun.

My G40 has the Zev drop in trigger assembly love it for hunting.

I bought a ZEV fulcrum trigger for my G20 long slide and that was the biggest POS trigger I've ever felt. It had tons of creep in it. The only benefit I saw was a little less takeup and a fast reset. I replaced the ZEV connector with a Ghost Ultimate and it feels better but man what a waste of $200+.

The best feeling triggers I've felt in a Glock were with a Ghost Ultimate connector with a 6# trigger spring after about 1500 rounds through them.

They just ain't a precision trigger, they are designed to be a combat gun.

I'm hearing good things about the CMC Glock trigger but it's only available in the small frame Glocks for now.

I do trigger jobs on Glocks all the time. Polish every moving part that rubs another one. Polish until Shiney, but dont go too far, you will get into a copper color.

I polished the trigger on my G40 and it made huge difference... For the better.

It only takes about 15 minutes with a Dremel using the 1/2" FELT polishing pads (no stones or hard abrasives)....FELT...

I used Blue Magic metal polish.... https://m.advanceautoparts.com/p/blue-magic-products-metal-polish-cream-7-oz.-400-06/7040003-p?c3ch=PLA&c3nid=7040003-P&c3apidt=22084222990&gclid=Cj0KEQjwwLHLBRDEq9DQxK2I_p8BEiQA3UDVDsJS3Wd49z7DRSV3u1o550nsAsdchH_oWXTAQFiN5UwaAhqS8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

They say Mothers Aluminum polish works too.

I use the Dremel polish, and hand finish with car paste wax.

I replaced all the glock triggers with Overwatch flat triggers. For my serious gujs, I buy their NP3 coated Factory minus connector. For hunting guns I put a Zev connector and spring kit in.

I have a gen 1 17L---BUT I really don't know much about Glocks -- the rated trigger pull on my 17L is around 4-4.5 pounds, but it looks like the G40 is around 5.5 lbs--- is there something that Glock does to lighten the pull weight??

My 17L trigger is pretty decent, but it's no match grade trigger for sure

Glock sells a 4.5 lb connector, and it is stock in target guns, and the G40 included unless they've changed since all the boxes I seen. Self Defense/Service Pistols come at 5.5 lbs. My 29 after polishing measured 4.8 lbs I "think" it was. It's been awhile and I don't have a gauge personally and ever Glock is different.
