Quiz time......nothing like a 10mm challenge.  ;D

WHAT should the minimum length be with most all powders, max load, HAP 180gr?

Well 1.2500" is the usual OAL for most all 10mm loadings.  Most manuals show 1.2500" to 1.2600".
WFN bullets have been loaded shorter at 1.2420" to allow a better tipping angle due to the wide nose meplat.
Some people will load longer to keep pressures down some at 1.2600" and even 1.2700" depending on their magazine and firearm combination and feeding abilities.
The "10mm" I'm Packin', Has The Bullets Wackin', Smakin' & The Slide is Rackin' & Jackin'!

i just took a guess.. never noticed anything shorter in my manuals... but then not loading large meplate type ammo  :)
USU they are the heavy ones...
but he did mention most all powders , max , in  hap180

That's just it. For the most part, HAP (or equivalent?) is 1.250" for most powders, but the Hornady book is 1.260" for the HAP bullet. Period.

For practical purposes I control at 1.255. And don't get too concerned if +/- 0.002

Same here, regardless of bullet.
