A.R. pull

RMR pull

Not that the condition of the A.R. pull is going to effect loading or accuracy...

These are demilled under a contract and that contractor will sell off the pulled projectiles to places like AR, RMR and NER.

They use a squeeze pinch type puller thus the pull marks.  Back when RMR and others had the 0.400" 200 grain Gold Dots they showed some pull marks like that on the HST's and other bullets.  My test of shooting them in water jugs did show some petals breaking off but most just rolled back normally.

Here are Intercooler's results from the same loads I sent him!
Limited Pro 4.75" 200gr Gold Dot 9.4gr's LongShot 1285, 1299, 1298, 1289, 1274. Average = 1289 FPS/ 738 LBS. Stout and accurate!
Limited Pro 4.75" 200gr Gold Dot 9.4gr's 800-X 1208, 1216, 1265, 1230, 1237. Average = 1231.2 FPS/ 673 LBS. Another nice one!

All in all they still do the job even pushed beyond the limits of their design!   ;D

I posted my review of the AMR .400 HST here:

Now for the RMR pulls.

Different than the AMR, these were advertised as 155/165/180.  These bullets also cost just a bit more at $156.00 including shipping, compared to 137.93 for the AMR.  Both companies shipped via USPS, but the AMR bullets arrived two days ahead of RMR, despite being ordered 4 hours later and a time zone ahead of me.  For both price and shipping service, AMR wins, but both were very satisfactory.

The RMR bullets arrived in bags of 250.  I separated them by weight.  Pro-tip, set the bullets out in rows nose down.  The different weights are different lengths, and it is easier to see the differences when they are up-side-down.

Bag #----180 gr----165 gr----155 Gr----Culls----Total----
Bag 118245330260
Bag 220532182257
Bag 320937110257
Bag 419445190258

Overall 76.7% were 180 grain, with 15.4% 165 grain and the balance the 155 grain.  There were 2 culls in bag 2.  One 180 grain that had a factory defect in the cannelure, and one 165 grain that had a damaged base from causes unknown.

I favor heavier bullets so I ordered from both companies primarily out of interest in 180 grain heads.  RMR had a much higher percentage of the 180 grain over the AMR pulls.  Also, as benchrst pointed out, the RMR bullets had been tumbled and were nice and clean.  So, the extra money and wait is worth it for me.  If I were to order again from these batches I would favor RMR as I am most interested in 180's.

But, these are both really good deals, and for cheap JHP's the AMR deal really can't be beat.
