Will this sight work over the stock fixed sight. S&W 1006

I have a 1006 with stock fixed sights.  It shoots low, about 5-6 inches at 25 yards.  Will this rear sight work to bring my POI up?  It appears to be a shorter sight than the one on my pistol.

You need to lower the front sight or raise the rear sight to get your pistol to shoot higher.
