I have a Glock 20 and a 40 MOS, shortly after I bought them I realized the brass was bulging at the bottom and bought KKM barrels for both of them. Shot both a lot but mainly the 40 with a mixture of mostly PPU with some Underwood and Double Tap.
So the other day I got out the huge bags of brass to start decaping pryor to cleaning and realized that the primers were missing in about 80% of the cases, the primers that were  still there seemed perfictly normal.
So I took a small ball guage and miced the grove dia. and the stock Glock barrels were .4015 and the KKM were .3998, I don't have any way gauge the land dia. other than turn down a plug or something.       Any ideas or thoughts ?

Are you saying the primers blew out?
What was the loading that was being tested when the primer were missing?

Could they have been deprimed before they went in the bag?

Primers are just gone, this was factory ammo. just went thu it all and 100% of DT and Underwood has misiing primers and about 75 ppu out of a gallon ziploc bag had the primers still there.

I just picked it up and put in bag for later and now i'm trying to figure it out.

And the primers are just gone? They didn't get jammed in the gun or anything like that?

I could see DT and Underwood having pressure issues in a tight barrel but I have a hard time seeing PPU having issues unless the barrel is REALLY tight.

you say the primers in the cases that still have primers look fine? no pressure signs?

did you perhaps decap them and simply forget?

Something isn't right... Have never seen a blown primer on over 2k commercial rounds of various types
to have that many is def odd.

Tho i thought the UW 155/165s had a chance to do so ( start of smile )

That is strange. I can see 1 or 2 primers popping out of the DT or Underwood, but PPU is weak.

Have you ever sleep de-primed? It is like sleep walking, but you de-prime brass instead of walk.

I don't know I have been letting them pile up, you do kind of go into a trance after a while depriming. Maybe age is creaping up on me but I think I would remember depriming 1000 rds. Anyway I'm going go to the range and shoot 50 rd. thru the Glock barrels and the KKM barrels and check them all.

It would be hard to believe that you would not see the blown primers when picking up brass.

I know I would.

Most were shot at an indoor range with all kinds a assholes around and brass everywhere.

ElCoyote

And I only picked up 30% at best

I know I would.
Especially the quantities you are talking about.
