My "Night Watchman" Sword Cane arrived in today's mail.

This is the bomb! I had to take the Sword Cane to a commercial mandrel-bending outfit to have it cut down from 39 to 34" It had some high-density pressed gray styrofoam filler in the end to keep the 25" SK5 (equivalent to Chromium-Vanadium 1080 Carbon Steel) blade suspended in the middle of the spun aircraft aluminum shaft/scabbard so that it would become dull by beating against its interior.

It is heavier than the other cane, but not unwieldily. I have read other reviews where other owners/users have cut down 2" thick green blackberry vines at the height of their strength. The man was even harvesting Brussel Sprouts with them! While the blade is made in China, it is well tempered and will hold an edge, unlike other Chinese stainless steels. (I refuse to buy junk).

Since I will be getting a prescription from my VA Doctor on May 5th for a cane, I'll add a third to my collection and have the ability to carry the Self-Defense Cane on any commercial aircraft, Amtrak Greyhound or any public conveyance. It makes traveling everwhere much safer.

Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree is a class A misdemeanor.

I haven't been in NY since 1965. I sincerely doubt that I'll be returning anytime soon. I didn't lose anything in "the rotten apple".
