Maybe it's just because the pic of powder you posted isn't much of a closeup, but what I'm seeing in your pic doesn't seem to be what I see looking at my No.9 powder.

In your pic the powder pieces look very uniform in shape and not flattened hardly at all, if at all.  My No.9 powder pieces have a very noticeable difference in size and plenty of them are very flattened balls while others are balls that aren't flat or only lightly flattened at most, just like in the No.7 pics I posted in the 180gr Ted Nugent ammo thread.

I would need to see more of a closeup of the powder you're showing to be sure.

BTW this is some of my AA#9  from 2008  Accurate #9 has under gone many formulations with the more recent being all flattened ball.

Not my business, but it doesn't bother you to shoot hot 125gr 357 loads from a Mod 19 Smith? I always heard to stick with the 158 gr loads in the K frame.

You know I've heard and read many stories from the 19's being beat up and flame cutting of the top straps, etc.
I have shot some pretty good stuff from mine over the years, still good to go.  I have had the sights (adj.) get loose and the ejector rod back off on a session once.  Hey I bought this thing as a shooter...

I cast an RCBS 180 silhouette bullet (also avalible in TMJ from Speer) that is a long, when crimpped in the normal cannelure it will not work with revolvers with short cylinders and as loaded will not cycle thru my Marlin 1894 lever gun.  But I shoot them from my 19 without issue over 11.0 grains of Blue Dot...

Just wondering as I'd read the same stuff myself. Seemed the consensus was to shoot the magnums in 158 gr.  Mine is a 19-2, 6 inch. Not sure why I bought it  , a friend for my Python, I guess. Usually shoot hotter stuff thru the GP-100.....I'm not sure you can hurt one of those.
