I think they will open up pretty quick too but hopefully they won't parachute and slow down until they hit a good penetration number. It seems driving the HP's out there now they open up very good but parachute and slow down quick. The 200 XTP is kind of opposite but never really opens good (my take).

Do you have some links to the test videos? I looked on YouTube and must have missed them.

Intercooler

I must have searched wrong the first time

Do any of the guys you see testing compile all their data in some spreadsheet or anything? The videos are great but it's hard to decipher all the different rounds out there.

My guess is with those long cuts in the jacket they open up too quick at 10mm speeds.

They very well might do that.  Interestingly the HST has a "cannelure" of sorts, which is unusual for a 9mm or 40 S&W bullet.  It is not used to crimp the bullet in place, it may be there to attempt to limit expansion.  I haven't seen one open up past the cannelure yet, but all of the loads I've seen personally and online have been factory.

I am very interested to see the results of these bullets at 1,100 , 1,200 & 1,300 fps 10mm loads.  The factory 40 loads are specified at ~1000 FPS and perform well at those speeds.  The bullets may blow apart at those velocities (like a big 135 Nosler  :o ) or they might just surprise us.  Some bullets hold up better than others at higher than specified velocities.

It would be nice to see them tested at those three velocities.

The 147gr HST gave 1054.4 FPS/ 363 LBS out of the XD 4" today.

Can't wait to see these results! I would love to know the mystery 9 powder.

Lot's of Power Pistol! It's a Universal kind of thing I see.

The_Shadow

The Powder looks like Power Pistol shape and size of the flakes, those marked but have a lighter color flake in the mix,  I saw that in several commercial loadings.  It maybe a color identifier or a flash deterrent...? ???
