XTP?

I may have done these long ago but didn't add them to any sheet. Don't know if I should Chrony them or not since they are discontinued and the powder is gone.

The_Shadow

You listed them as XTP's given the rounded shape of the nose they could be older stock or other brands like Remington's or Winchester's bulk line of bullets they are very simular.   ???

Further investigation into the powder used in the older 9mm Underwood loads, it could be Hodgdon Universal Clays
New pictures and data suggest this to be the powder in use.

Maybe someone could shed some info or pictures of Hodgdons International Clays Powder... ???

Another different one! The velocity on them was pretty decent.

Didn't I send another PPU round of some type? I wonder if it is a totally different powder? Doing a good job  8)

The_Shadow

Maybe a (proprietary powder)? to PPU others that are square cut flakes (SIPE from Italy) and these two I have no data for (VihtaVuori N3SH) (VihtaVuori N3SL) ?  Older Alcan powders were square cut also.

AL-8 large, shiny gray diamond-shaped flakes

I have not seen AL-8, but have a few pounds of AL-5 and AL-7, both are round black flakes with white identifiers, much like Blue Dot (but white instead of blue).

The cans also say "white flake identified" on them. I had assumed the other Alcan powders were like this too?

Today I updated the data on the Underwood 9mm (older) ammo to reflect new data and pictures of the Hodgdon's Universal Clays

This is what was in the 9mm rounds I pulled down...

Hodgdon International Clays is slighty simular in appearance...but not suited for cartridges other than shotgun.

BTW here is a picture of regular Hodgdon Clays Powder, note the identifier flakes with the small hole in them.

All of the previous post were updated to reflect the changes. :D

Kevin wouldn't share the powder. I'm going to shoot the +P+ out of the 4" XD and then my Match when I get the conversion kit. It will be interesting to see if the .75" of extra barrel picks up the velocity. Right now I view my XD as a freak!

Intercooler

Got these today. Best I can tell nobody has done the 147 +P in gel so sending to Chopinbloc after I Chrony a few. Probably not worth doing a pull-down on but shame they can't do these bullets in 10mm. Look at the slit on it and how far it peels back  ;D

Intercooler,

A lot of gel and barrier testing has been done on the 147 +P and regular pressure 147 HST.  Take a peek over at m4carbine.net ... lots of good info there on service cartridges.  Especially look at the stuff done by DocGKR.

If you have them to compare you will see that the 147+p and 147 HST bullets are slightly different, with the 147 having slightly deeper scores that the 147 +P.

As far as doing the HST in 10mm... a few weeks ago I sent raggedyman some pulled .40 180gr HSTs to do a workup and try out in the block, so we'll see how they perform at 10mm velocities.

My guess is with those long cuts in the jacket they open up too quick at 10mm speeds.
