wow...you would think something like this would be caught when they are proof shooting the gun.

It usually isn't every shot.  Sometimes it will only be the last round from the mag.  Sometimes just one or two in the middle.  And other factors can impact it as well.  I had about 10 out of one hundred shots when my Para was doing it.

So I can see it not manifesting on 3-5 proof shots.

Pretty quick turnaround.   Gun is being delivered tomorrow.  We will see if she spits those spents correctly tomorrow .   Fingers crossed

Went to the range today after getting the weapon back on Tuesday
Gun performed pretty much flawlessly. All the spent cases I could find were good.
No mangled cases out of the 100 rounds I put through it .  Couldn't find a whole lot since they were Being ejected into low earth orbit .   RIA's customer service was great. Short turn around.   Tech note said they tuned it.   😬😬😁😬.  Happy and relived.  Looks like they put a new slide on it too.

Well that is what I would call very great customer service. I am glad to hear that they fixed it and in a very quick time frame.  :)

Good to hear!  Glad you 10mm runs.

I narrowly avoided buying a RIA HC in 10mm last weekend.  Instead the funds went to a very under-priced S&W 28-2 with recessed cylinders.

I had the same thing happen with my Ultra FS.  I pulled the extractor and tuned for more tension and problems went away.  I'm glad that customer service has been reported to be very good with Rock Island.  My dad had an issue with his 22TCM barrel and it too was taken care of quickly.

I wonder if tuning it just means they messed with the extractor?
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

I bent the extractor to provide more tension on the rim of the case and like that I had zero issues since.  So I would say they tuned the extractor for sure.
