Got my new recoil spring today, now to just get time to go to the range! It is 1 3/4 inches shorter than the one that came with the pistol but feels a little stiffer. I have no way of testing it.    PCFlorida.......I picked up a MagLula at the gun show in KC today needless to say I feel like I have been living under a rock. I love this thing!!

Which service center did you send your gun to?

And I'm definitely interested in how the red spring is working for you.   I have the longer silver spring and it makes the gun harder to reassemble, so I've been thinking about getting the red spring.

I used Ahlmans in Morristown, Mn.. Thier website Address is Ahlmans.com.  The spring does make it much easier to re-assemble. Now to get time to go to the range....

Well....just got back from the range, actually my Buddy's place in the country. The GP shot flawless on the first mag full of factory Remington 180gr. fmj..approx. 1120 fps average. Then moved on to some of my handloads and it started to get picky. Luckily the rounds that functioned best turned out to be the ones that kept the best group. They are 165 fmj's by winchester loaded with 9.7 gr. of Power Pistol. Once fired brass mostly Sig some Starline. These clocked in at an impressive (to me) 1320-1345 ave. All in all I have some work to do get more loads for testing that will function properly. I think this is still a nice shooting gun but can't depend on it 100%.
I know it is apples to oranges but for now my go to favorite is still my Delta Elite.

Sounds like a good start. Please let us know as you find out which loads work best for you. I haven't found any yet that don't work, but I do like them heavy and hot. Have only shot 180's and 200's. Make sure you keep the COAL up to around 1.250 to 1.255 has worked great in my P40.
