interesting but he should have used beef ribs. they are closer in size to a black bear's ribs. like he said, "bear's rib bones are easily penetrated." all rib bones are similar but the mass a bullet has to pass thru should be closer to make the test more accurate. still great info.

Thanks for the video IC.

The winner was obvious, however I did not expect the 10 to do so well. That reassures me.

My .44 is a Ruger Redhawk. But I would not feel underpowered if I had my 10mm. Just the fact I have 10 bullets to the 44's 6 makes me all warm and tingly.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Then imagine how 16 (15+1) would leave you feeling...😜

Don't know of many real world situations where you have time for more than a shot or two. (brown bear).  I did read an article once written by a bear hunting guide...he stated that 240 gr. hollow points were the best BECAUSE,...the 240hp would more often than not change the bears focal point from YOU to the place they just got shot... and that would definitely give you more time. I guess they are nasty enough on the receiving end to get your attention.

I always think I could squeeze off 4 or 5 shots.

If I lived, I'm just throwing my shorts away. Pants might still be OK.

Well...................I just got a nice double action Ruger Redhawk in .44 mag. 5-6 shots. with a bear charging at me would have been hard with my Single Action Superblackhawk.

Yeah but the SA is more accurate  :P :o ;D :)) ;) :-* :P

Well, if necessary for a charging bear, I still want my DA Taurus Raging Bull in .454 Casull.

I've never had to face off with a bear and sincerely hope to never have to.  However, I've met a couple of people that have in real life.  They both carried 44 mags and  both felt they would much rather have had a long gun instead, no equivocations.  It's not volume of fire, it's a few accurate shots with enough penetration when the bear is charging (think 12 gauge with slugs).   They run and climb so fast you're not likely to get many shots off regardless of magazine capacity.
