How powerful is 10mm? Well, see those craters on the moon?

easier said than done. My range has a grate we stand on. I should get a brass catcher.

But then the brass will be mine.  ;D

While I want a 9x25 barrel I need an ammunition I can purchase locally. 10mm, 40 S&W, .357 Sig I can buy from Defender Ammunition, Academy Sports, Gander Mountain, and/or Jim's.  I have been to a lot of gun shops and have not seen 9x25 -- yet.  ;D I'll keep looking.

Only two companies make it that I know of. Underwood and DoubleTap. I have the dies to form 10mm, and from what I read not super difficult, I would rather start with 9x25 brass, that is marked 10mm  :D :)) :-* ;D

Interesting thing is, Underwood said they made their 9x25 form 10mm brass and it will be 10mm on the head stamp.

Now they have 9x25 brass as I found out from the ammo I got (1 box of 50 rnd 9x25 125 FMJ and 2 boxes of 20 rnd 9x25 124 XTP).

Another interesting fact for the G29:

Uw 10mm 180 XTP -  1267 fps 642 fpe
Uw 9x25 124 XTP - 1522 fps 643 fpe

ETA: corrections, the 180 vel is from the Storm Lake barrel, the Glock barrel shows 1231 fps 606 fpe

That is interesting.

You need a longer barrel. I love shooting 9x25 out of my 6.2" Glock 20.  Any kind of targeted object downrange. Just shreds it. Sure my 6.8SPC and .308 and other rifles have more power, something about the 9mm, at that speed and crack out of a hand gun that hardly kicks.

Olgo

When I was shooting the Uw 10mm 180 it smacks my hand good. Now the 9x25 should be easier to shoot and have the same energy.

I'll soon find out at the range.

Also I found after loading up the 9x25 and holstering, it was a lot lighter.

The 9mm bullet will shoot flatter, but will lose its velocity and energy faster.

The 10mm bullet will retain more of its energy down range.

AT least that is what I think will happen.

That's quite true. I'm not hunting, it's all SD.  8)

Just got back from the range. I got one advice to those who's getting a 9x25 barrel, REPLACE YOUR RECOIL SPRING to 21#!!!

With the stock spring the recoil is brutal and it damaged the spring that I'm getting light strikes because it's not returning to full battery. It could be that the spring was already worn out.

Anyway, I'm carrying with the 40sw barrel and Uw 40sw 155 XTP for now and I got the SS 21# spring (stock is 17#) BMed in order.

Unless they changed the stock spring should be 18 lbs.  I leave my Wolff non captive 21 lbs spring set in mine all the time even with 40 S&W and 357 Sig also for the 9x25 too.

My LONGSLIDE firing 9x25 out of the 6.2" barrel works fine with a 19 or 20 # spring, because the huge mass of the slide.

Is that a solid or open long slide

Solid like a brick. If I use a 22 or 24# spring, it's too much spring
