Hi guys, new to 10mm and new to reloading (with exception of shotgun).... infact, just got back from shooting 20 rounds that I reloaded earlier today.  I just purchased an RIA 1911 in 10mm bull barreled for possibly hunting.  Since I am reloading, I was curious as to some recipes or even general data on hunting rounds.  I will be hunting Hog-fairly small in Management areas, and if I see a coyote I'll take a shot.  I'm thinking a lighter bullet, faster speed would possibly go right through a coyote-killing but not tearing up hide, but in a hog have enough speed to kill em.

Any thoughts?  I know.... trying to kill a 20lb coyote and 150lb hog in one bullet sounds ridiculous, but maybe not?

Thanks!!

HOGS CAN BE TOUGH!  I like 200 grain XTP or cast solid bullet, the dogs easy to dispatch with anything you can hit with.

Load up a 200 grain cast for a hog.  It will just poke a hole in both sides of a 20 lb canine.

180gr XTP over 12.0 of AA#7 with CCI 350. Fun ride and an accurate load. You may need stronger recoil springs for the hotter loads. 12.5 is as hot as I would ever go with AA#7 on a 180 grain loading. I found 12.0 to be more accurate.

Thanks guys!!!  Currently I have 180 JHP and 155 Speer GDHP, guess 200 XTP is in my next order. 😆😆

Hogs are tuff, no doubt.   Unless you hit a vital zone, they will run.

Surely a heavier round would do best, but as previously stated, you must hit a vital zone.

I shoot 165 gr. @ 1250 fps.
