I saw this on Facebook. People are claiming it's the round of the future that will make all others obsolete.

It won't.  It does nothing the 9X25 doesn't already do.

Plus, we already have made all other handgun rounds obsolete.  Perhaps you have heard of the ultimate round.  It is truly a 10....MM Auto! :P

I wonder about that. I must admit it looks interesting.

It's even on a CZ platform.

They just don't know the 10mm is the ultimate!

Did the FBI adopt it? :)

It's a fast bullet. But what would it be useful for? Bullet weights are very small. Someone on Facebook tried to tell me it was like a 30-30 rifle in a handgun.  :))  A 30-30 has twice the energy in a bigger bullet.

the bullet speed  I saw published put a 125 gr. bullet going 2200 fps. thats rifle ballistics!  my125 gr.  300 Black Out loads chromo at 2165. out f a 16" bbl! and I have killed some pretty big hogs with them. if true, thats an awesome pistol round! :o it looks like the 7.62x25 but on a 10mm case instead of a 9mm sized case. maybe longer too. I wonder if I can buy a barrel for my Witness? ;D I would love to have something that shot that cartridge. 8)

I dunno ... gonna need a sig brace adapter before I could do anything useful with it past about 40 meters.  I don't have the skills or the vision to pinpoint with irons.

I'm gonna have to stick with 460R for my 44 magnum auto simulations - I'll just have to live with the momentum 250gr brings to the party.

That said ... I will be watching the round.  It's an interesting carbine prospect if components come available.  Here's hoping I mature enough to handle wildcatting the sorta pressure this thing will put on the table.

The 7.5 mm is close to 30 cal, bullet designs and casing strengths will play a big part as well the powder being used.  Slower power take up plenty room and faster powder build pressure and can spike above desired results.

The 9x25 would be great using the Barnes 100% copper 9mm bullets, or if they made some with 0.355" or 0.356" FMJ, spitzer point bullets or some HPBT designs then the 9x25 would really shine...  They would likely defeat some soft armor vest (if spun with faster twist rates), however the cartridge overall length is restricted by the firearm and magazine design constraints.

Lehigh Defense 65 grain, 90 grain, 115 grain, 125 grain Xtreme Penetrators or the 75 grain & 105 grain Controlled Fracturing and the Cutting Edge 75 gr & 90 gr HG Raptor - Solid Copper Handgun Bullets may also be a good options from the 9x25 zipping along!

It becomes a fine balance between the cartridge case strength / capacity vs. the bullet weight and length as seated.

Somethings thats taking that much of a beating (recoil mechanisms), what will its lifespan be?   How easy to correct issues in the field?

As an old 44mag fan, its very intriging, but seems like another stab at the automag!

Another new cartridge. Many many years ago, I came up with ideas for few new cartridges. I only got as far as producing some CAD drawings.

Here is a list off the top of my head of some of the pistol cartridges I cam up with:
10mm Magnum case necked down to 30 cal. (similar to the one mentioned above).
45 Magnum case necked down to 30 cal.
45 Magnum case necked down to 9mm/357 cal.
9mm Magnum necked down to .22cal
9mm Magnum necked down to .30cal. (Yes I reinvented the 7.63×25mm Mauser  ;D)

I found that most of what I came up with existed in another wildcat cartridge that has already been thought of.

I THINK I remember reading that the base of the case of the 7.5mm cartridge is almost 11mm, not 10mm, which is close to .44mag diameter (whose bullet is actually .43" in diameter, I think).
