Gotta give some props to Midway USA

I got their email circular earlier this week and they had a modular free float tube on sale for a good price.  I have a couple of AR builds going at any given time and thought I would give these a shot.  So I connected up and added two of them to my cart.

I then remembered that I wanted another magazine for my Hi Power clone, so I tracked one of those down, as well as a 30 caliber pilot for my RCBS neck turner.  Clicked the "Checkout" button and cruised thru to completion.

A few minutes later I got the email confirmation and it only had one free float tube, not two.  Editing the order was not an option.  Cancel was, but not alter.  So I ordered a second one, then emailed Midway CS and asked them to merge the orders so I could benefit from combined shipping costs.

Both orders shipped early Wednesday.  As separate orders.

Oh well, not worries.  It was only about $5 or $6 so I wasn't going to sweat it.  I kinda forgot about it.

Late yesterday they replied, explained that fast shipping departments meant the orders had shipped already.  And then, they said they credited me the difference in shipping anyway, and thanks for being a customer.

I would have been just fine with a response of "We shipped too fast, sorry".  Crediting me for a business expense they legitimately incurred on my behalf was over and above.

So, giving them a shout out!  Least I can do.  Solid company, good inventory, and good CS make them a company worth dealing with.

I have used Midway many times over the years, if there was anything I would complain about would be shipping cost.
But they do ship fast and arrival times have been short.  Products are in good shape because they are packaged well.

No doubt. None better and not surprising. I've been shopping them since about 1980 or so. Paper catalogs, order sheets and a postage stamp, or a phone call (expensive long distance, at the time), was the only way to get their stuff. Shipping charges have always bit me, and I hated it (except when it's free, which is rare). However, the "free" or cheap shipping and piss-poor packaging of others isn't really free. I try to avoid ordering heavy items from some of them, even if they are irresistibly cheaper. It never failed, order bulk bullets from Cabela's, and I get a busted box and maybe all the contents. They handled it well, but they shouldn't have had to. Frustrating! Any damage issues I've had with Midway orders was the shipper, usually UPS.

Cabela's is strange. The more expensive or fragile the item is, the worse the packaging.

Hint: I just placed an order with Midway yesterday. The order had $12 shipping. I added a pair of $2.00 close-out gloves to the order that ships free with orders over $25, and they took $7 off the order.

Midway has always been a class act with great CS. In the past, their shipping has always been their Achille's heel but they changed it about a year ago to a more 'friendly' shipping procedure. They have always treated us with class and respect and the birthday gift is a nice touch.

I suppose everyone has their own experiences.  They will not get a dime of my money after an experience I had with them.  They mis-shipped a reloading die set (wrong caliber) and it was horrible to get them to swap out the correct ones.  I bet I had 4 hours on the phone to finally get them to make and send a call tag, but would still have to pay another shipping charge when I placed another order for the correct die set.

Last straw was when they told me it would be the "last time" they would send a call tag for something they sent wrong.  They were correct because there will never be another error as I will NEVER order from them again.  I placed the order for the same dies directly from the manufacturer freight free at the same price.

I'm as easy going as they come.  I understand errors.  They happen.  I do expect you to stand behind your errors if you want my business.  They didn't/wouldn't do that to a customer that likely dumped $4K with them the prior year.  Haven't missed them at all.

I made an order one time and my credit card was charged twice by mistake. I emailed customer support and i received a personal response back from the owner.

I always recommend them.

I buy a good bit from them and have nothing but good to say about how fast they ship and customer service. I think it's been 3 times I've had to contact their customer service, I know twice for stuff broken in shipping. Both of those times they sent out replacements next day shipping. once was something mis shipped and they sent me a ups label and again sent the correct thing next day.

If you have a problem with their customer service, email the owner.. I bet it works.
it has for me with a couple other businesses.

I have been happy enough with them to keep buying stuff from them over the years.

I can't even fathom how much money I've spent at Midway, they need to give frequent customer discounts.

I have always received good service from them.

Bought a lot of stuff from Midway.  They way they determine shipping charges still confuses me.  For the most part, the items are well packed.  I did have a problem one time when I ordered some CCI 22 lr.  They were loose packed with some air pillows.  Two of the plastic boxes were open and one of them was actually broken.  Loose .22lr all over the box.  But all the rounds were there.

Still, I was glad to get the ammo. That was back in mid 2013 in the midst of the .22lr drought and they didn't price gouge.  $6.99 per 100.  But shipping for 4 boxes was $15.33.

10-4 on the shipping! I can remember when they shipped FREE!

Just received 5 G20 mags, 2 G19 mags, a couple of MidwayUSA pistol cases, and a few other small items. Glad they reduced shipping a year ago.
