Any recent update on the Grand Power in 10MM?

Ok, here is a comparison of the GP 40 barrel and the G20 barrel. I am extremely impressed with the barrel of the GP 40, I have to say it is the best chamber support I have seen yet in a 10mm. The G20 however is not too bad, they have gotten better over the years. This is about a 4-5 year old Gen3. I need to get a picture of the chamber support in my G29.

Two more points.

1. The finish on the barrel is unbelievably nice. It likely has to be for the barrel to rotate, but it is awesome. A lot of time went into the machine work.

2. I took it out in the front yard and put 10 rounds though it, 8.8 of PP with a 180 FMJFP. If the ground behind and about 6 feet to my right wasn't a concrete parking pad on a slope I imagine I would have been able to just scoop up the brass. As it was I had to pick it up, but without moving my feet .  This may be the 10mm reloaders dream gun.

One more thing while I am thinking about it.

Take down is a breeze. Pull the slide back (empty gun of course and no mag) with one hand while pulling down on the 'Glock style' tabs pull the slide back all the way and lift the back up.

To put it back together it takes quite a bit of work, perhaps it gets better with time. It is just the reverse of the above, but the recoil spring tends to get bunched up and in the way. It probably took me 10 tries. You also have to push the barrel up in the slide.

In case you want to order replacement sights be aware that these are MK12 firearms, not MK7. I ordered a tritium front sight for mine and it didn't fit.

Excellent, thank you. I will be getting night sights for this.

I have found that if you run the barrel all the way out and reassemble with the barrel hanging towards the floor, it's a lot easier. The only night sights, available, for the MK12 are the rear tritium sights. At this time they don't have a front sight for it. Eagle does offer red or green fiber optic front/rear for the MK12. It's great to see another GP out there. I really like this firearm and use it as my EDC.

So the MK7 was the older style with the trigger guard you pulled to do take down, and the MK12 is the newer one?

I found many of the points you stated the same in my 9mm K100 version. Great machining and high quality with the best support out there. So it tossed the brass less than 10'? Is yours a decocker?

It should be a matter of time until Dawson or one of the others sells a night front. I still prefer a Lasermax Micro green laser on the rail.

Yes, it is a decocker. I am going to set the chrono up tomorrow and will get some velocity readings. Will put some of the Sig 180 JHP through it as well. I am going to compare the G20 and the GP 40. I am guessing 10' or less, I will measure it tomorrow. It is much less than any of my other 10mm though. This is looking good so far.

I wonder if Dawson has one that will work now? Sometimes they can make something up behind the scenes.

It sounds pretty good so far. Can you get some brass pre/post measurements? I would like to see how one does with some 200-230 Hardcast!

PCFlorida

I don't have any 200 hardcast, but I just bought 1K of 200 XTP's. I'm planning on working a load up with Heavy Pistol (same as AA9) and using those.

Good question, I sent them an email this morning.

Has anyone seen these for sale anywhere? Although I cancelled my order with Henning, I may still buy one if I can find it under $700 shipped. I have been watching Gun Broker and several dealer websites and haven't seen anything yet. I'm beginning to wonder if Eagle only got in a few again this time.
