Are those velocities out of the GP? Any brass measurements or video?

PCFlorida

Yes, those are chrono readings out of the Grand Power. How should I measure the brass? I saved it just wasn't sure where to take the measurements. To be honest the brass looks really good.

I figured it would look really good. Here is where to measure:

Is that 1270 FPS with a 200gr bullet? That's 715 lbs at the muzzle. Really good!

Are you still running the stock "red" spring? I can give you measurements if you want to step to a 20lb or higher CZ-75 spring. That might reduce the throw even more!

#79
The stock CZ recoil spring measured ~ 4.865" and I had to whittle it down a coil or two at a time. When I could finally get the slide on it was about identical in length to the stock GP spring in length. The cut spring is 3.935" and the GP spring measures 3.900"

I figured that was where to measure so I took those already. On all 5 rounds it was .422 before and .424 - .425 after firing. The Glock was .428 after firing and clocked 1281.

That is 1270 FPS with a 200 gr Hornady XTP. I picked a thousand of them up on sale last month. I'm really happy with this gun. The felt recoil is much lower and there isn't as much muzzle flip.

Yes, still running everything stock until I shoot it some more. Right now I'm amazed. What is the stock spring, do you know?

According to the guys in Slovakia, it's comes stock with a 6.5kg spring which converts to 14.33#. Seems like there would be plenty of room for increasing spring weight.

PCFlorida

So I believe that what we know about recoil springs may not apply to the rotating barrel. A 14 lb spring isn't nearly enough in a short recoil design, but may be plenty in a rotating barrel. The gun doesn't recoil that hard at all. I will try to get some video but may need to wait a week. We will see.

I had to go down in my 9mm on the spring weight (hence the cut-down). The red spring seemed too strong IMO for even +P. I think I went with a 10lb spring which is what I run in my EAA Limited 9mm even with +P+. I'm pretty sure the red spring feels stronger than what whey rate it. You might be good to go across the board with it... however... swapping to a Wolff spring you will know exactly where you are at and what works.

PCFlorida

I'm sure to swap it at some point, it is running really well right now with no defects out of the box. No FTF or FTE, it just runs. Like a Glock :)

I doubt any frame battering, so I would just leave it too. How was the accuracy? My K100 shoots like a Witness when I do my part.

The accuracy is great :)

I need to get a couple hundred of the 200 XTP's loaded up. I think I am staying right there at 12.5 . Very consistent.
