Too bad he didn't have some hotter ammo to run.  I would have expected to be able to see 1350-1400 fps for 180 grain out of a 6" gun.

His Chrony was generous for that Freedom ammo too.

I put my chrony @10ft, looks like his muzzle of the gun was much closer then that, maybe why the fps was higher then ?

The bruin is a six inch barrel.

He was using a lab radar chrony.  It will actually show a trajectory plot as I recall

For some reason that angled spring plug worries me. It's probably totally irrational, but I don't like how little it looks like it has to hold on to.

I spent some quality time with my Bruin last night field stripping it. The bushing wrench has a small and a large end. I tried the small end for quite a while and thought I was gonna break the wrench as I could not budge the bushing clockwise. I tried the large end of the wrench which has a step built into it and the bushing turned easily.

After messing with the bushing and angled spring plug removing and reinstalling them, I'm confident the angled spring plug will work just fine with the bushing. It may look a little wonky but it definitely stays in place.

There was a custom 1911 maker who named his guns after snakes that kinda pioneered this design.  His name is right on the tip of my tongue.  I am sure I will think of it in the middle of the night.

None the less, the goal of the design is to make the gun holster more smoothly.  I can see where it has some benefit.

As far as strength, I think you would find it has about as much actual purchase as a traditional plug.  A normal bushing only engages the plug from about 10:30 to 1:30.
