Man Henning is quick. I ordered it the other day and here it is already!

HXLFP2 :: Henning XL Firing Pin (Large Frame) Price: $25.00

If you ever need something or info ring up Henning. Talking to the Ladies at EAA will have you banging your head against the wall and still not getting answers. If by miracle you get the guys in the back you still may bang your head and come up empty  :o

You have to remove the spring loaded firing pin stop. Don't know what that will affect on the function.

Worked very nice today and better strikes. You have to remove the firing pin block/spring to use it. Guess that takes a safety away should you drop it?

Whats it made of.  Drop safety can be achieved by a light firing pin (titanium usually) and a heavy firing pin spring.  That is how Ruger did it on their 1911.

High Quality Extra Long Firing Pin for all Tanfoglio / EAA Models. Available for both Small and Large Frame Models. This performance firing pin designed for competition and reliability is the lightest, fastest firing pin available for the Tanfoglio pistols and weighs 35% less than the factory pin. It is made out of 420 Stainless steel and has a Rockwell hardening of 50! It eliminates light strikes and allows for use of light hammer springs. Combine with a Wolff 13lb, 14lb or 15lb hammer spring for a lighter trigger pull, yet 100% ignition. If you like to use Rifle Primers, you have to use this long firing pin to set them off.

I like Henning's Stuff but I would never get the firing pin for a street gun. Disabling a safety is an increase in Liability. For Sure Jamal's Mammy is going to sue you for shooting her "baby" and the evidence of an "altered" firearm is just one more thing that makes you look like a gun nut. Same reason you never see 1911 guys get rid of their grip safeties even though it was designed for disabling the weapon in the event it was dropped from horseback (not kidding!).

Just IMHO

Back in the day Texas Rangers used to strap the grip safety down with a section of cow hide.

Race guns often have them pinned.  The Novak Answer system also eliminates the grip safety.

But, all that said, it is still a bad idea on a personal defense gun, IMHO.

Range guns are a different animal.  Do with them as you please as long as long as you don't compromise the integrity of the pressure containment system.
