I have a question. I'm thinking of getting a 22 tcm and reaming the 9mm barrel for 9x23. I have a DW 10mm a witness match in 38 super and a ruger super redhawk in 44mag. Will the 9x23 give me anything performance wise that I don't already have. Thanks

Well the 357Sig brass are usually easy to come by, the 9x23 is about the same ballistically.
38 Super is slightly weaker than the 9x23 pressure wise, you can learn a lot about these two here; http://38super.net/

A very good site to educate you about anything concerning them...   ;)

The only thing that concerns me about the 357 Sig is the brass is bottlenecked. The 9x23 is straight walled and will last longer. My lgs carries both he also has 9x21 ammo on the shelf. I will have to check into the 357 Sig. Thanks

Not really.

The 44 Magnum is more powerful. 10mm is about the same. 38 Super will have similar magazine capacity.

Thanks guys I guess I will spend the money on primers, powder and brass. Maybe a 44mag lever action.

In my experience, mostly with Starline brass, the bottleneck case isn't a significant factor. The brass doesn't fail any more often than straight-wall cases. The drawback is the additional handling for reloading. I use a .40/10 sizing die before neck sizing, and a pass-through at times (the case is otherwise straight-wall), which eases required force and increases the feal of the neck process. It also gets cleaned twice (dry tumble before sizing, wet after). A real advantage of the 9x23 is the ability and range of bullet weights. The .357S lacks neck tension for any bullet over 125 gr, while the 9x23 isn't limited. Many folks do it, but they shouldn't. Increased magazine capacity is also a bonus.

You can't go wrong with a .44M lever gun. I prefer Marlin over Win/Henry 94's.
