Background checks would reduce violent crime. When cops in NYC get killed they trace the guns back to the same SC gun shop who sells the guns, and then the guy who bought the guns sells them to unknown people who then sell them to cop killers.

When the cops trace the guns, the original purchaser says I did nothing wrong.

The NRA can do a poll anytime, they won't as they know it will bode bad for them.

The people that are doing this are still not going to follow the law, that has been proven time and again.

When background checks fail to solve any problems, registration is the answer.  When registration fails, confiscation is the answer.

Europe with their strict gun control seems to still have problems.

Legally owned guns are not the problem.

This thread like others is getting to the point of personal jabs and attacks.  This is not the way we want things on this forum and it can detract from the actual topic.  But some of these topics are being posted with the intent of stirring up personalities, which is sad...while I am here on this topic I put my short take of things related to the topic of gun laws.

The current corrupt, overreaching, big, greedy government, gone wild for power and control already have enacted too many Gun Laws!  Their wanting even more restrictions, are being seen as bureaucratic steps of registration and toward  confiscation.  This current administration turning criminals and terrorist loose, back out to the streets and into the world, while wanting disarmament of its citizens is being seen as a socialist/communist plotted takeover from within.

The fact will forever remain that there are people that have taken up criminal mindsets, terrorist mindsets, or those with  problematic physiological issues and they will use whatever means necessary to carry out their attack.  Hammers, guns, knives, swords, tainted or poisoned items (food/water), arson (initially or for cover up), explosives and even vehicles.

The criminal, may have once been able to buy a firearm prior to carrying out an action where felony conviction removes that right, however many get their firearms via burglaries or purchased from other criminals, in which cases the firearms are not legal for them to posses.

Terrorist individuals or even groups are an identity all their own and are shaped by an ideology response.  Some of these are radicalized through various political factions, so called religious groups like Islam and some are just plain assholes wanting attention through stirred up hate crimes including outright murder of individuals or larger groups.

Many see the NRA as a terrorist group, but the difference being 99.9% are law abiding citizens.  If it is so be it the NRA has been here organised for 145 years.(November 17, 1871)  Of those they understand that the world is a changing place and the Second Amendment is there for a reason.  Self protection in the event of personal attacks.  As well as group threats or attacks by our very own corrupt government or a coup takeover using militarized forces (such as UN forces) including the radicalized inside attacks of what they are calling "refugees", may need to be ousted by force some day!

These "refugees" are mostly all younger males and that in and of itself is a threat to our families and communities.  Their resettlement is abusing monies that were for seniors and veterans benefits and it is not sitting well with anyone that has worked for this and being shorted!

The election process will be looked at closely considering all the controversies that are clouding this particular election.  The system has been proved to be corrupt on many levels from the top, down to and across the isle of congress, throughout the halls of justice lately...  Depending on the outcome of this election, we may see a renewed United States of America and an American Spirit or an all out civil war in the making!   God Bless American!  If he doesn't nobody else will!

My intent is to stir debate, it keeps the site lively when it's slow. This post is about a poll about guns. If we cannot discuss certain things, ban them and let's move on. Just put a disclaimer in, that we cannot say anything bad about guns or the NRA, we can only hate against liberals.

Make it clear and I will play by the rules.

hmmmm, really?
Does that mean that my wife can ignore the expiration date on hers since you said it lasts a lifetime?
I can say wolfie said so, so it must be the truth, right?
Or are you just trying to stir up more discussions with lies or half-truths?
Just wondering.....

* NRA did a scientific survey of about 1,000 members and found that 5% of its members support the universal registry legislation.

* And GOA did a non-scientific poll of its members. After nearly 25,000 gun owners responded, GOA's survey found that only 4% of its members supported "universal background checks."

Goodbye troll.

Wolfie

A scientific survey?

What does that mean?

Who did it. The other 2 polls were from reputable pollsters.

Had enough of this guy. Myself and the staff have given him plenty of leeway to give his opinion but I've received too many complaints from members here that said they won't come back because of him.

We support the 2nd amendment. He obviously does not. His constant attacks on Republican candidates and support of anti-gun politicians was unnecessary. He didn't offer up any 10mm knowledge here, and 99% of his posts were in the politics section.

He is banned. Permanent.

Good riddance.

After reading a number of his posts and fighting the urge to respond to his ridiculous comments I'm ultimately happy I didn't allow his comments to sucker me into responding. Stirring debate is one thing being an "Agitator" is another. Great outcome for all here. ;D
