Stand by for SWAT when it's an active shooter gets people killed. Same if it turns from active shooter into a hostage situation. That is all that article makes me think about. How the outdated standard of wait for SWAT have cost so many adults and children in this country their lives while equipped officers capable of dealing with the threat stood by waiting. In NC the attorney general directed state wide in service long ago that basically told officers NOT to do this with an active shooter. The chances of SWAT in most places being able to even show up on scene before an active shooter scenario is over is so low it's not worth highlighting the training they do for it imo.
