The immediate hurdle is to get the first 150 signatures. The petition cannot be found on search engines or by searching through the petitions until we reach that number.

If we get enough signatures then Obama will have to issue a public response.

I have some concerns about that petition.  If it was ONLY about all states having to recognize other states' CCW permits, that would be a good thing.  But the part about a national CCW permit worries me ... I can easily imagine that such a law might eliminate some of the rights that my state permit gives me.

Weapons were my tools in the US Army and as a Police Officer.

They have now become my self and home defense tools.

But you only need one gun and a box of rounds for that (.357 S&W next to the bed). I own plenty of handguns and long guns and it is more of a hobby for me now.

As for not negotiating with Obama, swell then why are people signing the petition? The last time the GOP failed to negotiate with Obama was when he offered the GOP a economic deal in favor of the GOP by a 4-1 margin. All the nominees said they refused a 10-1 deal.

Obama won and the GOP got 1-1.

The GOP took the Senate in 2014 to stop Obama. What happened? They gave Obama everything in exchange for oil exports for the rich.

But hey. The GOP has your back,,,,,,,no wonder Trump leads with uneducated voters.

I don't understand your logic. Negotiating with Obama will gain us nothing with Hillary Clinton. If she becomes President, she can change any deals made with the current POTUS, and if you think that Obama will do anything to undermine any future decisions that might be made during a Hillary Clinton presidency, then you are the one who is naive. Hillary Clinton will do as she damn well pleases, regardless of any deals we make now. You don't get it Wolfie. Our rights were never theirs to negotiate with. They are absolute. It doesn't matter if they're Republican or Democrat, these politicians work for us, not the other way around. It's time we reminded them of that.

My whole thoughts on this was a National Pistol Permit = Database (UN Po Po, here is the list, fetch)
(probably exist already for those states that issue)(maybe on Clinton's unsecure server).

Here is what I see, the government takes away a freedom, then sells it back to the people...example Fishing Licenses.

In NYS, permits in 55 out of 60 counties are for life without fees and only recertification.

Contrast to Texas and Florida who have renewal fees.

If Hillary wins she will not take any rights away. She will stack the court and the court will take gun liability away from gun manufacturers. According to Heller, you have a right to have a gun in your home. They will build on that.

If a court can rule that corporations are people, certainly they can rule on guns.

The second amendment was written when guns were one shot at a time.
