Thinking about a long gun in 10mm. I have a cx4 in 40sw and I am sure a 10mm semi would be even more fun.
My question would be... what would be the most reliable platform? I am not really handy, I don't want to be tinkering or sending it to someone just so it would operate.
Lightweight would be nice, and not spending a fortune would be a plus.
I could sell my cx4 if I had to but my wife shoots it well and enjoys it so I would rather not.
Enjoy independence day, if you have a chance to give me some guidance then thanks in advance... Russ

I have a TNW Aero Survival Pistol which I bought a stock and 16" carbine barrel to put on it. I'm in the process of trying different loads to see what shoots most accurately.

In the pistol configuration, it likes 200gr bullets the best. I'm getting groups of about 6" at 100yards. I hope the carbine barrel turns out to be as good, or better.
So, pretty trouble free operation thus far? I have read mixed reviews, this is encouraging.

Here's an option for ya.

Good call on the MechTech
Yeah, the MechTech CCU makes for a fine Pistol Caliber Carbine
With the owner having either a 1911 or a Glock 20 / 21 they can easily run 10mm
I own a MechTech/Glock 20 (MG20) and love it to death
There are hundreds of ways you can dress-out / customize your CCU too
They accept almost any rail set-up and rail mounted accessory you can mount on an M4/16 or AR15
Here's my MG20-M4:

Love my TD carbine. Built like a tank and a real tack driver!

I have the 1911 version of the Mechtech.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

I'll just leave this here...

(another example of the Glock-frame MechTech 10mm)

Based on my experience and what I've seen/read online, you'll be looking at about 90% chance of it being 100% reliable out of the box, and the other 10% usually aren't severe defects. Unloaded weight is comparable to a similarly accessoried (is that a word?) AR-15, but the center of gravity is more similar to a bullpup (that is, the balance favors the trigger hand rather than the support hand, probably about 70/30 trigger hand/support hand, as opposed to the AR's 40/60). Since it uses a simple blowback mechanism, the recoil is linear, slow, and smooth.

What I can say for certain is this: you can't go wrong with a 10mm carbine from the fun perspective.  I love mine.
"The meek shall inherit the Earth" is a mistranslation. Properly translated it would say: "Those who have swords and know how to use them, but keep them sheathed, shall inherit the Earth". Carry every day.

I've added a few cool things to my MG20-M4
Never did care much for the unfinished look (of the rear half) of the CCU, so I added a Rear Cover
Cut, shaped and mounted a 1911 CCU Frond Cover behind the Glock:

Also, I added the FAB Defense PTK-VTS Foregrip Kit:

The new Fore Grip really adds to the controlability of the "Point" and Follow-ups

The MG20 is quite accurate
20 Rounds at 50 yards:

My Mechtech and Razorback are not too bad either...
