Picked up my new Eclipse last week. I always wanted a 10MM in the 1911 format. I was able to take it out to the range and qualify with it this week. I was able to shoot a variety of ammo through it, including Sig, Freedom Munitions, Underwood and Federal. It shot 100% with absolutely no issues. The Kimber certainly provides more feedback with the hotter rounds then the model 40; however even the hot Underwood ammo was pleasant to shoot. I have to add an ambidextrous safety, but nothing else needs to be changed. Kimber has remained out of stock of 10mm mags + they only ship one mag with the pistol, so I purchased two Wilson 9 round mags. I've found that it takes considerable effort to actually put 9 rounds in the mags, but they work fine with 8.  The mag release on the pistol is extremely stiff. I shoot left handed, so I'm having a little difficulty with releasing the mags with my left index finger. I'm hoping this will ease up some after some use. The Eclipse works fine with my 1911 holsters, so there is no need to purchase a special holster. The mag holders are a little lose so I will probably have to see what I can find there. Overall I couldn't be happier with the pistol.

Enjoy that Kimber Eclipse Custom II, I know I sure like mine now that it finally got the issues that I had with it fixed :) I like my Colt Delta a little more and my Son Nick likes the Kimber a little more, so it all works out, we both can be shooting 10s at the same time :) a win win in my book.

Try Tripp mags, they work wonderfully in my Kimber 10mm.

Congratulations on your Kimber. I've no doubt it will perform to your satisfaction. I've had a number of Colts and Kimbers and I prefer the Kimbers because of the standard features they provide out of the box over the Colts for the same price. I have a Kimber Custom TLE/RL II 10mm. I had a Glock model 20 10mm at one time and I didn't like it much. I like the Kimber over the Glock because of accuracy and lighter recoil. I used to have a Kimber Eclipse Pro Carry and noticed that the blackened finish while attractive did rub off a little in spots from regular holster wear. But, then regular holster carry will wear spots on any finish. Good luck and good shooting with your Kimber.

Cut a coil or 2 off the mag release spring and it will be fine.  Buy a couple of extras to work with.
