Chamber Support Comparison

Standard G29 3.78" Glock Barrel on left.
Standard G20 4.60" Glock Barrel in center.
Aftermarket G20 6.02" Storm Lake Barrel on right.

The Storm Lake barrel was newly manufactured in August of 2012.  I had ordered it factory direct.

Very interesting to me from the standpoint that it looks to me like my new Storm Lake barrel has more chamber support than either of your two.  Yours seem to be beveled out more around the top height edge than mine.  I might have to get another pic of mine from a little lower angle and slightly different lighting to see better.

These seem to be about the best chamber support pics I can get of my new Storm Lake barrel.

I have 1/16" or less showing even though it looks like more in the picture.  The S&W factory 10mm is about 3/32" or maybe slightly less.

BTW the StormLake chambers are very tight, most spent brass from other guns will not even enter the chamber.  Pass thru sized brass has very little movement.  In fact my 40S&W chamber if it gets a little soot in it it makes feeding an issue because it is too tight.

I agree.  The pictures do make it hard to judge.  I would also agree with 3/64" - 1/16" in the Storm Lake barrels.  My Storm Lake chamber is relatively tight.  That said, all factory ammo I have laying around here (Horandy, Winchester, Double Tap, CCI Blazer aluminum case) drops in cleanly with no resistance whatsoever as the case mouth edge clinks upon contact with the front of the chamber down in the barrel.

The real proof of chamber support comes from fired brass in my experience.  As the saying goes, hard to judge a book by it's cover.

True, in order to see to what real world extent.  Either way, obviously more case support does give some pretty clear indications.
