Dented brass

My Glock 20 G2 ejects brass with distinctive dents. The dents are right below where the bottom of the bullet would be. It does not matter if they are hand loads or factory ammo. Does this happen to anyone else? The dents are still a little bit visible after the brass is re-sized. Is this a problem? I have not have one split on me yet however, it still concerns me.

You might want to clean the extractor and your slide.  There could be some carbon fouling or even brass particulate that could be hampering its function slightly.  Removing the extractor and brushing out the slot and the extractor then a light wipe of oil can do wonders!  The may clear up the issue.

The dents usually will come out if you have a long expander plug.  Some expander plugs are very short and may not reach far enough inside.  This is one thing I like about my RCBS dies the expander can reach down inside and it helps to make the casing straighter and more uniformed to accept the bullets.

Check your extractor tension with an empty casing. The extractor should have a firm hold on the casing to eject properly. If it's loose, the extractor claw won't be able to get a firm hold on the lip of the case. I worked on my RIA extractor when I was having dented brass the same as you spade described and it's much better now.

Removed the extractor and cleaned it. Also cleaned the entire slide inside and out. The dents were smaller afterwards. Maybe it is something else.

My brand new G20 that only has had 250 rounds of factory ammo thru it puts small dents like you are describing.  Wondering if it will get better (not put dents) as it gets broke in or will it get worse?  I have a batch of reloads ready and will evaluate how they look.
