I see their website is shut down.  Look like someone is buying them out.

I hope it's not Remington out to screw up another company!

Their announcement sounded positive, so doubting it's Remington/Freedom Group.

The guy writing the announcement is the guy cashing the check so he mostly is concerned with "How Much Can I Get".  These buyouts always seem like a good deal from the outset and then change.

Coonan is not real large so maybe Bond would expand like he did with Boberg that was just down the road from Coonan.

I have been told that there has been a lot of talk on the 1911 Forum about Coonan.  Speculation there is they are in financial trouble again. 

I have a friend who is a welder and whose shop is next to Coonan's.  I sent him an email asking if he knows anything.

Which of these are a 2011 / Wide-body / Double Stack / High Cap 1911 ?
A High Cap 1911 is the next on my 10mm Wish List !

Best I can tell the only one still in production in a wide body 1911 is the Rock Island Rock Ultra FS HC.

The others that have been in production are:

Dan Wesson/CZ Titan
STI Perfect 10mm

In addition you may have these options in a custom build:

Fusion Arms (Not cataloged but known to do custom builds)
Any wide body 1911 in 40 S&W converted to 10mm
Wilson Combat (Not cataloged, but they offer a double stack 45, so maybe a custom build)

I have the Rock Island and it is a solid gun.  I also have a Para P16 Conversion, which again is a solid gun.  Both are finicky about ammo over 1.250" COAL.
