I finally have an NRA membership again.  I was a member for quite a few years and then slacked off.  I'm back on track now.

I know, even amongst gun owners, there is some debate for and against the NRA.  I've always thought they were okay and see it only as a positive as a gun owner in at least showing my support for them even though I can't afford much beyond the standard membership dues.  I've seen some gun owners suggest they go too far in relation to pushing for some of the gun rights they do.  I for one have never felt that way.  Just my measly opinion.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Member, NRA certified pistol instructor, range safety officer.

Politically they bug me a great deal to be honest.  But the training and community awareness opportunities they create are excellent.

Oh yeah, I'm a range safety officer too

Now that Obama is in for another 4, you gotta join now.  More than ever you must support the lobby side now to prevent any laws from getting through.

And, if, heaven forbid, Obama gets a chance to change a conservative justice, we may well no longer have a court that will give us decisions like Heller or McDonald.

Please, join today, and keep your membership current.

Without a doubt, a judge will retire or perhaps die within that time period. Maybe more than one......then it'll take a generation to change.

There's still that UN treaty lurking about......interesting times ahead.

I never wanted to join. But I'm going to get a membership on payday. I fear for my firearms since the results of the election.

In the second debate, Obama said the answer to gun violence in America is "seeing if we can get an assault weapons ban reintroduced."

He also said any weapon "that were designed for soldiers in war theaters don't belong on our streets."

That is a pretty loose statement. I own many firearms that our soldiers use everyday. I'm sure most of us do. AR-15's, Baretta M-92 handguns, Mossberg shotguns, 1911's. Really Obama? Any weapon designed for soldiers?

yeah...Gun Violence....Like a grieving father cares what tool was used to administer violence to their children.

And, while I agree our gun violence rate is high compared to countries with strict gun control, our violence rates are much lower.  You are 1/5 as likely to be the victim of violence in America compared to Britain.  Sounds like a fair trade to me.  80% less likely to be a victim is good odds.
