I have been wanting a red dot on the 10mm ever since I got it. I know I get better results from shooting with the red dot and it's not like I carry the gun over here so practicality didn't come into it.  After only finding one commentin a 1911 forum on how to fit the burris fast fire with a bomar mount plate and arrendero adapter plate I took the plunge and ordered the parts.

It all came together perfectly, although the mount was a very tight fit and required a minor touch with a file and lots of lube to get it in. In retrospect I should have bought a sight push tool or taken it to the smith as I marked the sight mount slightly even with my brass hammer.  Live and learn.

The good news in testing it held zero for about 100 rounds until the burris fastfire screws worked loose. A bit of blue locktight and I'll try again, but the accuracy was better than my previous efforts wiht standard sights.  No problems picking up the dot with the automatic brightness function in dim light or bright Western Australia sunshine.

SUPER awesome, thanks for posting.  I've knocked around the idea of mounting a red dot on my Fusion longslide but will probably stick with irons since I could much easier put a red dot on my .44 magnum Ruger SBHBH ... but I REALLY like your post here...

REDLINE

Good stuff!  Eventually I'll have a red dot on my G20.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.
