Around the 700 round mark. My Bruin on round 3-4. Fails to cycle completely. When I drop the magazine, the gun fully cycles.

Anyone know the cause?

Thanks

It's not loading the round in or problem with ejection?

Wolfie

No problems with ejections.

Just when feeding, the bullet stops before its in the barrel completely.

When I drop the mag, it locks properly into place.

What's it look like with the magazine in just the frame?  See if any thing hangs up...

Did not think about checking for that when I cleaned the gun. Will check it later Shadow.

No pictures as I would have taken them at the range.

The gun just does not complete its cycle. Its less than quarter of a inch before if locks.

I drop the mag and it locks in.

I am going to the range on Thursday and will use my Tripp mags.

(I sent this gun to DW for ejected rounds hitting my head, they tuned the ejector and recut the barrel. The current issue did not exist before I sent it in)

Wolfie, it is starting to sound like the extractor may be too tight, not letting the cartridge rim to slide all the way up the breech face into battery.  1911 styled extractors can get bent and is how they are adjusted for proper tension.

Originall I was thinking the magazine or slide stop may have been adding drag as the slide went forward...

I am having the fail to go into battery issue with a new DW silverback 10mm. I only have 50 rounds through it so far so chalked it up to break-in. I had it happen 3 times and once I dropped the magazine it went into battery. Anyone have any input? I wasn't going to worry about it until a while later in the round count.

In what way? When my slide hangs up the cartridge is 85% in the chamber. It would make sense at that point that the cartridge is not being allowed to slide under the extractor. Although that hadn't occurred to me.

Failure to go into battery, doesn't show cause...but suggest ammo out of tolerance.

How To: Check Extractor Tension

Possible culprits in my mind.

Extractor, weak mag spring.  Though with these I am not sure what dumping the mag would change.

Goo in the chamber.  But again, not sure what dumping the mag changes.

That is the part that is messing with me.

Thanks guys, I do not think its ammo related. I ran Armscor 180, PMC 170, Blazer 200, Sig 180 and Hornady 155. I had the same problem across the board.

I have between 850-900 rounds through it. I will run another 200 on Thursday with Tripp and Kimber mags. If the problem persists I will send it back.

Looks like Tim has the same exact problem also.
