Hornady now has a new 10mm in their Critical Duty line. Looks a bit milder than their XTP line. It's still good news for 10mm fans ;) . I just don't like the price

It's been out for a long time on Cabela's shelves. It works really well!

It's pretty mild if I remember correctly but the projectile itself is high quality. A good round for the city.

I would love to see what these bullets do when loaded to 1250 fps.

A little info on the 175gr Flex loaded to 1300 fps, shot into wetpack ( completely soaked newspaper)

The reason I ask is because Hornady specifically designed the Critical "Duty" to be a bullet which penetrates barriers well.

Not to be confused with the Critical "Defense" bullet by Hornady which is meant for concealed carry.

I started carrying the Hornady Critical Duty 175gr JHP in the city and at home. The videos and reports I read lead me to believe this round is a good one for self defense in urban areas. The Hornady is very easy to shoot, good follow up shots and very reliable feeding.

When I hit the trails to the backcountry, I carry the DT 200gr Hard Cast with the spare mag of Underwood 165gr JHP Gold Dot.

Feel very comfortable  with the above combination in urban and back country.
