Intercooler: HELP!

Intercooler, I've directed this post to you because I know you are familiar with the gun in question, a Dan Wesson Razorback. With the factory standard 20lb. recoil spring is it safe to shoot Underwoods (180 gr.) and Buffalo Bore or should I use a stouter (24 lb.) recoil spring?

I don't think you will kill it. How is it running now in the current setup? Let me look in the archives and see what recoil spring I was running in mine.

Not intercooler, but a1911 with a ramped barrel like the Dan Wesson will be fine. If yours is one of the earliest Dan Wesson with a frame ramp them you will want to stick with Delta elite loads.

Unlike the Glock, on 1911 the stiffer recoil spring does far less to hold the gun on battery. The link controls that. The barrel slide are gonna move about the same no matter what, and the bullet will be looking gone by the time it moves the. 25 inches for unlock.

A flat bottom firing pin stop is the only upgrade I apply to my 10mm 1911's, regardless of barrel type. If I had one on 45, it would get one too.

It looks like I ran a 22lb spring in mine. I lost a slide stop and the ramp was getting beat up some before I sold it.

A flat bottom firing pin stop changes the leverage the slide has over the hammer when cocking it during slide recoil. It makes it a bunch harder. This eats up slide velocity very early. It also makes for less felt recoil as that energy goes into cocking the hammer.

It is best when combined with a 25 lb hammer spring, rather than the stock 23lb.
