Went to the range again, was happy to see no mag drops this time. I really liked the 155gr JHP over 9.2gr. of 800-X. I will post pics of the brass in the next day or so. It looks good, I don't see any stepping.

Cool! Measurements would be a nice bonus too. It would be nice to see how 220's run in them.

I was just sitting around watching YouTube and started to do what I often do to keep my hands busy, I cleared my GP and disassembled it. This helps me get more familiar with the gun and the reassembly. As I was looking the various parts over, it struck me again, the craftsmanship and quality of this firearm. One thing that caught my eye, again, was the barrel collet of the slide. It is not some simple thin hole at the end of the slide, put there to act as a rudimentary guide for the barrel. The end of this slide is machined to have a 3/8 or 7/16 thick barrel guide. This thing is thick. I think the reason they may be able to do this is that, unlike a conventional tilt barrel which needs the room to allow the barrel to drop and tilt, this barrel stays straight and allows for the additional support this set up provides. What ever the reason I am still amazed and pleased at the time that was put into building this firearm.

I am see some cooper fouling in the barrel, but since I got the same with both my RIA and my EAA, I'm just chalking it up to 10mm fouls a little more.

Anyway, Cheers

The machining is really great on these. It's hard not to take notice of that. I read the other day a few decocker models are coming and that means we might be able to get conversion parts.

I'm going to ask a question and I mean absolutely no offense to anyone...but...I'm wondering about the craziness about these guns. They are a polymer 15rd semi-auto. Yes it is our beloved 10 Mike mike, but what else is the appeal? Maybe for those who don't lie glocks, or prefer da/sa?? But 700ish, you can get a nice eaa witness match or a glock and a ton of ammo and mags? It's awesome we got new guns coming out and maybe that's the appeal.  Long as we keep this cartridge popular is all that matters...but it is an interesting gun, and yes I would lime to shoot one, but for over 700.00?? Thoughts...

I don't get it either.  But, lots of my gun buddies don't get my fascination with the 10mm.  I have a buddy who loves his Robison Arms XCR in 6.8 SPC, yet I have never seen it eat a whole magazine without a malfunction.

I like the idea of a better mousetrap.  These guys are making a run at it.  The rotating locking system in theoretically better for high pressure/impulse cartridges.  But, I would guess this new system has a lot of kinks to work out.  I spent my time on the bleeding edge.

My hat is off to you early adopters.  But I will just read and watch.

The rotating lock up was very intriguing to me because the barrel doesn't tilt down like other pistols.  The rotating barrel design theoretically would be less recoil flip and faster target reacquisition.  But first and foremost any firearm needs to run like a sewing machine no matter what. ::)

I still like the concept and the looks of the GP P40 10mm, but like IC, I am reconsidering this one for several reasons, made overseas, very few coming into the states, parts availability overtime should it need replacement pieces.

 For:

- Another Polymer option
- Rotating barrel
- Double stack
- Ergos both in grip and full ambidextrous
- Great trigger
- Great machining
- Full chamber support
- Aftermarket sights, holsters, etc...
- Easy to strip down
- Reduced ejected brass range

Against:

- Like finding a Unicorn
- No real supply of magazines for it
- Untested on the higher end stuff IMO
- Price is kind of up there compared to other Polymer units
- Velocity seems to be down versus shorter barrels in my 9mm testing

Thought it was time I posted some pictures of the chamber support on the Grand Power.

Interesting, Thanks for the pictures.  It will be interesting to see how it handles some of the higher impulse ammo?

180 grain XTP's over 9.6 grains of LongShot @ 1330 fps or 200 grain XTP's over 9.4 grains LongShot @ 1240 fps.  These are what we have seen in other pistols...You may want to work up just to be sure the GP will deal with the impulse.

Still none available.  Any chance you can get some Buffalo Bore or Underwood 220's and run through it with pre and post brass measurements?

Sonny10MM

I'm hoping the rotating barrel slows unlocking and somehow keeps the brass from being thrown into the next shooting bay. How far does your pistol throw the brass?

Intercooler

I haven't seen any additional units show up and we only have one reporting owner. Where did the rest of them go?

Good question. I about wish I had bid on the one with a 4.25" barrel that was on GunBroker, but I want the 5" Model that was reported here or on Brian's Forum that suppose to be here in the USA in the Fall. The lack of any more 4.25" Models is starting to  concern me. If another pops up on GunBroker I may bite.
