That bronze frame doesn't look very good.  It reminds me of the early LAR Grizzly frames with the screwed up bluing.

And over $2,000 for a production 1911?  What are they smoking......(face palm)

Dan Wesson already rides the line between production and cust OK m pretty hard, and this gun spends a good bit of time in the custom shop.  I don't think the price is out of line given the reputation their guns have.

i dont know....2k for a 1911 is steep for the average working joe. custom is nice but just not my cup o tea right now i guess.7-8 round?? i know for that price im grabbing me an EAA Hunter or one of those stocks, elite matches or pros and a ton of reloading stuff...;0

I agree it is out of my budget.  But I don't think it is oiut of line for what you get.  I think it is a value.

cant argue this....i honestly have never had a dan wesson or one of the custom guns so cant speak intelligently on them. dont really want to try because i would hate to get hooked on them...then what??lol..

One would think that most, or at least many, customers would not plan on using the iron sights yet there is no rail nor any indication that mounting a red dot or scope is provided for or even possible. It seems likely that a mount could fit into the rear sight slot once the sight is removed but that seems like an unnecessary difficulty for someone buying this. I also find it hard to believe this is actually worth $1000 more than a Sig. $1k ain't exactly chump change for most prospective buyers.

No doubt that the Sig is a better gun, but this is a 10mm longslide. That is a tiny notch below guns costing twice as much.

i think alot of Dan Wesson owners would not agree that the Sig is a better 1911.  For one thing, Dan Wesson is MIM free, the Sig is not.  Now, I personally have nothing against MIM parts, but it is a separating criteria in 1911 quality.  Even Wilson, who recently cleared the air and made it clear that MIM is fine, doesn't put them in their very highest end guns.

Another thing to keep in mind is a true custom shop 1911 will start at about $3200 these days.  This is a long way below that mark.

Have 2 Sigs, the 10mm and 357 Nightmare. Flawless from day one.

Have 2 DW's PM9 and RZ10, both had to go back to the factory.

I want one.

Affording it, well that's a different animal. Most expensive gun I bought straight up is my DD M4V3. $1300 in 2012.

Now my 10mm AR. I stopped counting!!

Looks pretty cool. I'm excited that it seems some companies are making it a habit to release a 45acp and a 10mm as their standard large frame handgun options. Out of my price range unfortunately. I'll be staying in Glock land for the time being.

I can definitely find a use for the 900 bucks I'd save buying this, instead, as well as having a 15 shot pistol
