These aren't the best.  These are the members of the club that have paid their dues.  Anyone worth voting for is being shut out.

19 trillion in debt, 250 trillion in underfunded liabilities medicare, soc sec, pensions. Govt is just going to blow it's credit card knowing it's not going to be repaid. It's a math fact, it's not going to be repaid. So they pass another 1.15 trillion dollar package. The dollar is king now, but it's time to die is coming. Recent rise in interest rate by fed is window dressing to show the illusion they are in control. Their not, and they know it. Global deflation now, not inflation. Over priced markets, housing as well. No decent job market, 51% in work force make less than 30 k a yr. Young  adults staying home out of college. Throw in the Free Shit Army and the wealthy .01 % and eroding middle class= not good.

I remember recently seeing on a post where (I think) Margaret Thatcher said something to the effect that socialism is great until you run out of other people's money!

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

I have no problem with socialism financially.  It does not guarantee bankruptcy.  There are a number of socialist countries that are doing just fine fiscally.  Socialism is fundamentally collective bargaining and collective risk mitigation.  If you buy insurance of any sort, it is a kind of socialism, just one that is not managed by the government.

But, socialism violates the basic tenants of government of the people.  It presumes the government has powers not derived from the governed.  And I have a problem with that idea.

We have been broke for years. You have to go all the way back to President Jackson who not only had us debt free but also a surplus. President Clinton had us "deficit free" with the debt projected to be eliminated by 2012 if his tax rates remained the same. President Bush came in and said he could eliminate the debt by 2007 by giving tax cuts for the rich.

Now you know why this conservative sides with Democrats when it comes to fiscal policy.

As for socialism, the USA is knee deep a socialist country from the local level right on up. But its socialism with a twist. Where corporate profits are private and their losses are subsidized by the taxpayer.

And this is why this republican is looking hard at Bernie.  There is nobody in the race who is going to turn buy our economic system to capitalism.  But Bernie seems to be a responsible socialist who will implement sound economic policy for our current socialist way of doing things.

And while he has historically been less than pro-gun, he also has made statements indicating he is only in favor of gun control policies that would actually reduce violent crime, and he hasn't seen any proposals that do this.

Bernie is a hardore neo con, worse than anyone else on both sides running.
