Just "inherited" a Interarms Megastar in 10mm and am learning the history of the gun and the cost of shooting a cartridge not embraced by the masses.

Anybody know of an options for .40 conversions??

Looks like I may have to become a reloader.

Thanks for any replies.

I don't know of any options for a .40 conversion.

If you aren't concerned about making true 10mm power in plinking, there are ammo options to be found online that will not break the bank.  You can find ammo for around $40/100 or $20/box.

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/browse/browse.aspx?c=95&s=940

You can cut that price in half again reloading plated bullets.

The real benefit of reloading is maximizing the 10mm's potential.  It ain't no 40 S&W, and anyone who says it is doesn't know what the 10mm can do.

That is a good catch on the Megastar.  I understand they are well built guns.

welcome to the forum.

The Megastar, like the LAR Grizzly, is so massive and heavy it makes the 10mm a joy to shoot.  Try it you will like it.  Down side is parts and mags are very difficult to come by.

Is it the starvelle finish?  (Looks like stainless but it is a nickle plate.)

On one hand I hate to say it, because I want it :o but the megastar is a great pistol.  In my opinion better than the Smiths.

Would love to buy a Megastar 10mm!!!!  HINT HINT
Even if you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.

Yup. I took pictures of one for a member here who bought it. In checking it out I found it more robust than the 3rd Gen Smiths.

Holy smokes, they're going for more than 3rd generation Smiths. That's pretty awesome.

I wouldn't fuss with it
Star make a great  / tough as nails Pistol
Shoot it as is or sell it
But don't mess-up a nice piece of hardware
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what came after HIM !

BEEMER!

I was thinking about putting in a bid on this one.  It got way past my limit before I had a chance.  This is the first NIB one that I have ever seen.

Have they been going this high?

They are a tank of a gun. The one I scoped out for a member that bought one at my local store looked great.  If it looks really good with only dulling of the surface/finish, you can do it up very nicely in any flavor. Given the low price he paid for it, customization would have been just icing for a beastly 10mm.

I picked up one last week. I probably paid too much but I wanted it so I got it. It looks to be in nice shape but I haven't had much time to do anything with it because my mother
is in the hospital. I hope to get a chance to shoot it next week. I see the NIB Megastar on Gun Broker closed at $2100 and it was still "Reserve Not Met".

To a collector it might be worth it, but in 2015 you get near the same thing in the new Sig P220 with a warranty.
