My next Pistola and it's not an EAA!

   It's been well over a year of pondering the next buy. I kicked around another EAA and the only model interesting me was the Xtreme (price that is!). When they rolled out the Xtreme Match last month, it wasn't what they advertised and that's okay because I built my Hunter into the real deal! I found a couple of the CZ's peaking my interest, but not enough to pull the trigger on one. Nothing in Glock or 1911's interested me as well.
   So what am I getting?? That's still a little up in the air  ;D Here in MD we have an approved list of pistols that are good to go. Once a year they do reviews of submitted firearms for the list (safety features, etc...) I'm actually getting two of them, but one hasn't even been approved by the ATF yet  (hint hint). The plan is to get an available and on the list 9mm model polymer to play around with instead of my Wife's XD. Then when the 10mm version gets through the ATF hurdle, I will purchase one and send it into the MSP for review. The whole process will probably put me somewhere in December 2017 to finally take ownership  :o

Intercooler

    Yup! It's going to be a Grand Power  8)  :o

This is what is currently on the approved roster (and I'm not submitting a 9mm for it!)

MANUFACTURER: GRAND POWER
K-100   K100   9mm
K-100, K-100 Dynamic, K-100 Target, K-100 X Trim, X-Calibur, P-1, P-1 Ultra      9mm, .40 S&W, .357 Sig
P 45
P-11

      So the research starts tonight for which model to go with!

Intercooler

  It's kind of looking like the K100 in 4.25" or 5". The question is the sights and if you can change them out. Does anyone like a scalloped slide?

I think they look cool.  But not for me.  Still a big carry gun and all those edges would snag on draw.

Intercooler

   That one would for sure! It's their competition version with all the bells and whistles. I like the Target version which doesn't show up on the radar as being imported here:

Intercooler

 The P11 they offer would be about the best carry offering they have, but the barrel length is kind of short:

   So right now the standard K100 4.25" looks like me with the three dot sights:

If the sights don't work for me I can change to red/green fiber sights available on Eagle's sight. I'm wondering when we will see the full line of parts show up, because in researching the X-Calibur comes with extended safeties plus the extra low profile like the standard models. They also have threaded barrels, 20-26 round magazines (on the site now), holsters and a decocker that might be a swappable piece.

I shared this with The Shadow the other day showing the support and parts that make these up. Great read with some very good pictures!

   What's your take on that step they employ in the barrel (in the link)? The support looks better than just about anything I have put in my picture archive. Do you see the step that looks to appear on the brass as an issue? Possibly reloading or something?

The_Shadow

Intercooler, the 9mm should be a neat pistol and the design should hande +P stuff well by its design and full 360 chamber support.  Non tilting barrel so not the typical feed ramp either...

The rotating barrel system is what I like most as it doesn't tilt downward like most others.  This helps to maintain sight picture as recoil is more straight back in to the hand and it has a low bore axis that also adds to the system.

I am interested in the 10mm version, just that it hasn't been imported as of yet.  Parts would be my next concern, so too magazine capacity and availability.  If the 10's are imported you would want to gather up the magazines any any replacement parts as soon as possible, incase it becomes a short lived import item.  :-[

The "10mm" I'm Packin', Has The Bullets Wackin', Smakin' & The Slide is Rackin' & Jackin'!

  Henning is going to make some parts and he told me CZ base pads fit  ;D

Will the chamber step create any issues?

Now if we can get the same logic applied to the TSA and DHS, that would be great.

Just went to be fingerprinted. Next step is placing the order!

Intercooler

  The waiting game begins!

It ended up being $505 through Kentucky Gun Company.

I guess to compare...

G19 = $499
XD = $399
Witness = $320
