I'm thinking 12" barrel on my Glock 20 is the way to go for a 10mm Carbine.  ;D :D :o :-\  - OK I'm kidding

Hang in there!!

Mongo: I like the idea of a "gas operated" 10mm carbine. If you can arrange for the proper amount of gas regulation for the long arm (as does a Wildey gas-operated pistol) It would be perfect! It would also be a nice platform for the 10mm Magnum. i have occasionally wondered how well a 500 S&W Magnum would work if the rim were turned down to make the "Mighty 500"  a "rimless" cartridge. Surely the .500 S&W Magnum would make for a marvelous 100+ yard self-loading round.

D'ya think?

I can appreciate that!  Especially, with all the issues you are having with the BCG.  I wish I could help but I don't have the knowledge or experience yet.

Captain O,

500 S&W carbine would be ridiculous!  ....in a good way!

Mongo

So....

Still waiting on QC10 to finish testing the 10mm chambered barrel.

In the mean time, I have an associate working on the feasibility of a hybrid gas piston system.

That would be the way to go, IMO... no "end user" R&D required!
Ya gotta PAY to PLAY, but when I PAY, I expect to PLAY, not WORK  :o

My only issue was crown, and frankly that was mostly looks.

I chose to tinker with the butt.

I never understood your opinion. I like to tinker, I will always tinker to make what ever it is mine..  WE ALL DO!!

Two questions, two of the largest purchase most people make. House and Vehicle. You would be lying to us all OR the most boring person on the planet, if you said both where exactly as the day you purchased them.

It's all in your perspective my brother.  ;D

I am sitting in the exact same spot.
I have a qc10 large mag lower (and a .45 bolt)
Was awaiting QC10 to test the system out; They did mention the blowback worked, but they had a few feeding problems....

I think going DI might be a better bet...seems safer if nothing else.

rmw extreme can provide upper to go with qc10 lower. Because I have one in 10mm. He provides the bolt. (complete upper) Also most other calibers also.
Most of these require some tweaking with 10mm debase of mag variability and OAL

Mongo

I too have considered the di option from RMW extreme but I have the upper I want (side charging) and the hand guards I want.  Ron has communicated its an all or nothing system due to proprietary parts.  I am dogmatic about not settling at this point.  Besides, all the reported feed issues are a big turn off.

sstewart

Thats right. I believe you will have feed issues initially too. It's a shake down (tuning) process.

Indeed. It is fun if you don't stress about it.

I have finally installed a 16" barrel and compensator from Kaw Valley Precision.

Pictures and range report to follow.

Its been nearly a year long journey.

Then he has changed since he built my upper. I sent him my VLTOR upper receiver and Noveske NSR handguard and he supplied the rest.

Mike D: Nice build!

Osprey can?

Perhaps Ron has changed or I caught him during his shop move and he really didn't want to spend the time to go over the details involved.  Either way it doesn't matter at this point as I have a build.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Armscor brass land only a couple of feet behind me.  As a blowback, I was expecting the brass to be launched into low orbit.

I had some FTF issues at its inaugural firing but a little polish to ramp and chamber seems to have corrected
it.

Thanks I really enjoy shooting it.

Yes sir that's an Osprey 45. Hindsight being what it is, I wish I had gone with the Octane instead.

Sounds like you ended up with a blowback design? If so what setup did you go with?
