I have been looking to get a second 10mm to add to the collection. At a Gander Mtn here they have a used one and it is stock and comes with 2 mags.  My questions for you before I jump onit.

Its priced at $474.99.  Everywhere I have looked, its appears to be that these run about $439-449 new.  But nobody loacally carries anything in a 10 let alone a Witness.  So I cant compare local retail prices to internet prices.  So whats a fair price for a used Witness.

Are there any issues with these guns and the 10mm.  My ol' man has a couple of them (45 ACP and 9mm) but they dont get shot that much.

Thanks for the input guys

Stay away from it.That's way to high and it's used. That's alot of coin for a base used Witness. You know for about another 100.00 bucks, you can get yourself the Elite Match NIB or get a used Elite Pro if you can find one used. The Elite Series are a better gun all around. The Pro is DA/SA.the Match is S/A but can be done to DA/SA.Go on Armlist.com for your local area, you never know.

Papacop has given you good advice.

I would offer one additional comment.  If this is the "old" stype that has the squared slide, not the newer rounded slide, I might be tempted.  The older design is stronger, and is still what you get on the Elite series of guns.  It would be worth $15-$30 to me to have the older bulkier slide, especially on a 10mm.

That said, join gssf for two years and use your coupon to buy a NIB Glock 20 or 29 for only $20 more.

Thanks guys,

Thats kinda what I thought. It is the rounded one.  I think I will just back off.  A buddy of mine works there and he is seeing what they could do.  He tells me they gave the guy extra money in trade for a Dan Wesson something or other so now they are passing that extra towards the customer. To bad that someone (myself) that does qutie a bit of buying and trading and is knowledgeable on some pricing came in and called them out on it.  I think I will pass on that one and keep looking. Im in no hurry.

sqlbullet: Thanks for the Glock info, but for what its worth, my chossen career path qualifies me for the LEO blue label pricing. So I am familiar with that. My 10mm I have now is a G29 and I love it.
