Would you ever buy a gun without shooting one like it first?

I vowed I would never (do it again).  My one son wants to me to buy a CZ97 B but until I try one at a range and see how the trigger is and it shoots, not for me?

Any other experiences?

I will usually buy based on dry fire in the gunshop.  Not always easy to try one at the range, even if the store rents.  They don't always have a used on in the gun case for rent.

Two comments on a CZ-97B.  First, I thought it was overall just more "rough" feeling than my Witness 10mm.  Second, the slide locks when the safety is engaged, like a 1911.  I really like being able to press check the gun without dumping the safety.  For that matter, I can load and unload the gun with the safety still on.  I know that is a preference, but for me the Witness beats the 97B.

Oh...And I have fired a 97B.  I have a friend that has one.  Nothing about the experience made me think I wanted one over a witness.

I think I've purchased all of my guns before shooting one. Can't think of one that I've had a chance to shoot before. Never really been a problem.

I own a CZ97BD (Decocker) 2015 model with Alluminum grips. For me by far most accurate out of box pistol i shot. It's heavy, but thinner in slide than a Witness. It's weight keeps recoil down alot. It's more robust than a Witness. It can run with top of the line 1911's in accuracy dept. I also think it will be a automatic hit in the 10mm dept if CZ moves on it. Cold hammer forged steel. Trigger on decocker version has more weight compared to the S/A D/A model. Single action pull is good.

I have bought several sight unseen via no pictures or web pictures, and have purchased several as used pieces.
Sometimes you just want something and not many exist to be able to actually test things. ;)

I have never rented a gun to be honest and at the time I started shooting I didn't know anyone who did. The first gun I ever shot was a k98 that I bought at 16(I still love mausers) the first handgun I fired I bought at auction and that was an impulse buy.
