Refit frame and slide

Just got my PM 9 back and they said they refit the frame and slide. (Galling problem)

What does that mean?

They also cleaned up a few scratches gratis and I am pleased.

Galling is where the metal of the slide and frame rails were rubbing together and the metal was trying to fuse through friction.  Lubrication is a cure for galling, some like grease but I prefer good quality oils.  Some even like "never seize" new Glocks come with that thin copper looking line of a "never seize" type product in the rail of the slides.  I use never seize on my muzzleloader breech plugs and nipples to insure they don't seize up!

I always clean after every range session and one drop of oil on each rail spread down the entire length and contact points especially with the S&W all stainless steel guns.

I had some 1/2" diameter stainless steel bolts I was bolting the engine to the transom of my boat with and just screwing the nut on by hand it seized up tight this was new bolt and nut,  when I got the wrench to back it off it wouldn't budge.

I get the galling part and I clean my guns every time I use them. Not sure what refit the frame and slide mean. My RZ 10 had the same problem but they said they lapped that one.

Sometimes they can just re work the surfaces with valve grinding/lapping compounds to get them to run smooth or in serious cases the spread or squeeze close the the parts to make them fit better.  In other instances they can heliarc/weld and add metal and reshape an area of concern.  Not sure what yours needed but if they made it workable you should be good to go!
